First up, you have time to explore Punalu’u Black Sand Beach and Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park on foot. You’ll take tons of photos and have the opportunity to spot the friendly Honu (Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles) that frequent the area. Of course, we can’t guarantee you’ll see them, but keep watch on the beaches or in the crystal clear waters throughout your trip. Next we turn up the volume as you enter Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to one of the most active volcanoes in the world, Kilauea. Hike the trails over smoking ground and through old lava tubes. For the next two nights you’ll overnight just outside the national park in cabins.
