Itinerary

Our routes have been carefully chosen to include the best night stops, highlights, and included experiences, and lots of optional activities to choose from. With stops at some of your tour leader's favourite places and occasional changes to the itinerary no two Trek trips are the same, so get ready for one awesome adventure.

You will meet your tour leader and group at 1800 hrs in the hotel lobby on day 1. Full details will be sent with your final documentation. If you would like to book additional nights before your tour please request at the time of booking.

2020 Itinerary

Welcome to Quito, Ecuador, sitting at 2,850 metres with a view of Volcano Pichincha on the horizon. Your adventure begins with a tour of the city’s intricate Colonial style buildings, walking past, Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús, Plaza Grande and Plaza de San Francisco.

Travel to San Cristobal, and head to the Interpretation Centre to learn about the human and natural history of the Galapagos islands. Afterwards, enjoy a tropical hike on a two-mile lava trail up to Frigatebird Hill for a panoramic view overlooking Shipwreck Bay or head to Mann beach’s turquoise shores to chill.

Enjoy a free day on the enchanting Isla San Cristobal. Take a boat ride to Kicker Rock or Isla Lobos, and observe some Disney-worthy Galapagos marine life. This is a great chance to dive right in and go snorkelling with sea turtles, eagle rays and friendly Galapagos sharks.

Take a speed boat to Isla Santa Cruz and visit the Charles Darwin Research Station. Epicentre for research into the Galapagos Islands unique ecosystem, it contains information about the conservation efforts to preserve the area’s rich wildlife. Don’t leave without getting up close to its resident giant tortoises. Afterwards, head to see the oldest living land animals roaming in their natural habitat.

Travel to Isabela Island. The largest Ise in the Galapagos archipelago, it’s also known to be one of the most volcanically active places on earth. Take a worthwhile jaunt to Tintoreras Island, to catch glimpses of the rare Galapagos penguin, and head to "shark alley", where white-tipped sharks rest during the day.

Visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Centre and learn about the preservation program for these gentle giants. Afterwards, enjoy a challenging hike up Sierra Negra Volcano to the crater for spectacular views and if you’re lucky see the rare vermillion flycatcher.

Travel back to Santa Cruz and take an optional trip to Tortuga Bay, nature’s paradise, where you can go kayaking, observe marine iguanas and birds or swim with harmless sharks in the cobalt blue alcoves.

Today you say goodbye the incredible Galapagos archipelago and fly back to Quito. You have time in the evening to go in search of a canelazos or two!  Enjoy your final night as a group.
