Six Of North America's Most Romantic Cities

Love is in the air...this Valentine's Day, check out six of our favourite cities in North America to ramp up the romance vibes!

New York City

Cherry blossoms in Central Park, New York City

An obvious starting point, but there’s a reason so many rom-coms are set in the Big Apple! From strolling through Central Park at sunset to taking in the city skyline from the Empire State Building, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful views.

New Orleans

More into fun and colour than hearts and flowers? Get your dancing shoes on and head to New Orleans for one big party! The streets of the French Quarter are lined with balconies and street performers, and Jackson Square is a hub of activity. In the centre, you’ll find St Louis Cathedral, looking like something straight out of a Disney movie.

Quebec City

They say French is the language of love – and in the province of Quebec and its namesake city, it’s most locals’ first language (don’t worry – English is widely spoken here too!). The UNESCO World Heritage site of Old Quebec embraces its European influence, with quaint streets, chateau style architecture and a funicular cableway to take you between the upper and lower town. You want romance? Here’s where you’ll find it.

Austin

Lovers of all things offbeat and quirky are sure to fall head over heels for Austin, Texas. Known as the Live Music Capital of the World, if you’re looking for some rock and roll romance, you might just find it here. The country, blues and rock scenes are alive and kicking in Austin, so whether you’re planning to dance the night away with friends or a significant other, you’re sure to find some tunes that make your heart skip a beat.

Chicago

There’s no better way to spend a date night in Chicago than sharing a giant deep dish pizza pie – something this city is pretty famous for. If you’re out to impress, the many museums in the city are a great way to show off your cultured side; and active types might want to hire some bikes and take a ride along the Lakefront Trail at sundown.

Vancouver

In the coastal seaport city of Vancouver, nature’s never far away. And in the awe-inspiring surroundings of Western Canada, it’s hard not to fall in love. A whale watching boat ride, a hike in the surrounding mountains, or a hand-in-hand walk through Pacific Spirit Regional Park – Vancouver will turn you into a real life heart-eye emoji…
