It's time to say hello to San Diego, with its stunning beaches, perfect California weather to match and laid-back vibes. Visit the monkeys at San Diego Zoo or go for a relaxing walk around Balboa Park and check out some of the 15 museums within the park. Feel the sand between your toes at Mission Beach whilst working on that all important Californian tan, or hit the water and make the most of the long list of fun water sports on offer from surfing to paddleboarding. Later, explore the Gaslamp Quarter and experience awesome restaurants, art galleries and a nightlife scene that will make sure your first evening is one to remember!
Feel the heat beneath the blue skies of the Mojave Desert as you drive through A-Grade Arizona. Want to see something out of the ordinary? How about the original London Bridge, relocated to Lake Havasu in 1831? Don't believe us? Well you'll just have to see it to believe it. You finish your day in Prescott, Arizona where you stay overnight.
Strike out across the desert in search of one of the 'Seven Natural Wonders of the World', the Grand Canyon. Over 227 miles long, 18 miles wide and 1 mile deep, it's perfect for exploring on foot or opt for an exhilarating helicopter flight overhead. If it's serious hiking you're after, then an optional hike deep into the canyon on the Bright Angel Trail will make sure you're pushed to your limits, but rewarded for your efforts with stunning views. Let's not forget about the aptly named 'Ooh Aah Point' on the South Kaibab Trail, which again won't disappoint when it comes to breathtaking views. Why not visit the IMAX Theater to see how the Grand Canyon was formed over millions of years, to really appreciate just how epic it really is?
Today you'll travel a section of the original Route 66 stopping at the town of Seligman, a quaint town which has stood still in time and is filled to the brim with authentic road trip memorabilia. With a sudden burst of neon, Vegas is right in your face - Viva Las Vegas! This is the party capital of the USA and you'll soon see why as you start your night off with an included Las Vegas limousine tour where you can let your hair down and see the sights at the same time. Opt for a deluxe buffet, watch the famous Bellagio fountain show or ride New York New York’s famous roller coaster, before clubbing all night long. Just remember, 'what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas'.
Leave those sore heads and empty pockets behind and get back to nature with a stop at the awe-inspiring and stunning Yosemite National Park. There's a reason that Yosemite is California's most loved national park, with its ancient Giant Sequoia trees that tower high above you. You'll also have the opportunity to spot some of the USA's most iconic wildlife, including black bear and coyotes. Both easy and challenging hikes await you and whichever you opt for you'll be brought face-to-face with stunning glacier-carved granite monoliths, deep valleys and spectacular waterfalls. Take to two wheels on a bike and explore Yosemite Village with the wind in your hair, or for a different way to see the park, why not enjoy a float down the Merced River on a rubber ring?
One of the most vibrant cities in the USA, San Francisco has got it all! Upon arrival enjoy a tour of the Haight-Ashbury area, and then cycle or walk across the famous Golden Gate Bridge. There are loads of options to fill your time in San Francisco such as catching an iconic cable car to tour the steep city streets, visiting the famous resident sea lions at Pier 39 or jumping on an optional sunset sailboat cruise in San Francisco Bay. For some lovely grub, visit Fisherman's Wharf, or chow down on tacos at a taqueria in the Mission District. Mmmm! Then the party people can flock to trendy bars and clubs in North Beach or Haight-Ashbury where that friendly vibe gets even better. Book in advance if you want to visit Alcatraz, for exciting stories of escape and misfortune, in the form of a brilliant audio tour.
Brace yourself because the scenery is about to get a whole lot more beautiful. Turn up the tunes, sit back and watch stunning scenery fly by your window as you follow the winding roads of California's pristine coastline. The wilderness of Big Sur makes for a spectacular pit stop as you continue south. Check out the stunning viewpoint of McWay Falls and look out for Elephant Seals.
UPDATE: Due to recent storm damage, the Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1) is closed in the Big Sur area south of Monterey. Until further notice we will not be visiting McWay Falls, and will instead drive directly from San Francisco to the San Luis Obispo area to explore the small beach towns of Cambria & Morro Bay.
It's time to kick back with a free afternoon in Santa Barbara. Sometimes referred to as the California Riviera, its beautiful beaches, majestic mountains and colourful culture make Santa Barbara well worth a stop. Relax on the beach and grab yourself some frozen yogurt for the ultimate chill-out time. Explore the famous Spanish Mission and soak in those Mediterranean vibes. As the sun goes down it’s time to find the nearest bar and let the partying begin!
Leave beach life behind you, it's now time to return to urban life in the 'City of Angels'. The second largest city in America after New York and home to countless A-Listers, there is no shortage of things to see and do. Take a tour of Hollywood Boulevard then stroll the Walk of Fame where you'll be able to get a view of the iconic Hollywood sign, then make your way to the hotel where this trip of a lifetime sadly comes to an end! If you choose to stay on another couple of days, why not head to Venice Beach for a spot of interesting people watching and to feel the Californian sand between your toes for one last time.

Located in San Francisco bay, Alcatraz is best known as one of the world's most legendary prisons.Departing from Fisherman's Wharf, you can connect with Alcatraz via a return ferry where you explore within the concrete walls and cells with an audio headset to learn the history and conditions within the prison.
