Leave the beaches and glamour of Miami behind, it's time to get amongst the action with an included swamp safari in the Everglades area. Explore the 'River of Grass' on an airboat ride, where lazy alligators resting in the sun and turtles sunbathing on lily pads are a common sight. Spot wildlife in its natural habitat and then for the ultimate experience in this unique environment, spend the night in a traditional 'chickee' (simple cabin on stilts), with the sunset as your backdrop.
Embrace your inner child with free time to explore Orlando's theme parks. You'll be spoilt for choice with Disney's Magic Kingdom, Universal's Harry Potter World, EPCOT or the Kennedy Space Center all vying for your attention. Orlando is one big playground and after a full day satisfying your thirst for fun, you'll sleep like a baby.
After all the excitement in Orlando it's time to chill out and what better place to do that than on 27 miles of pristine white sand beach along the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy lazy beach days lying in a hammock, try your hand at some watersports or opt for a sunset cruise. Make sure you pack your dancing shoes as well as your flip-flops as this is your chance to hit the hottest haunts on the Gulf Coast. So kick back and relax in this stunning, chilled out city.
This jazz-tastic town moves at its own pace and you'll find yourself embracing the laid-back vibes in no time. Music fills the air in New Orleans and you can't leave without spending an evening on Bourbon Street, legendary for its nightlife, or Frenchmen Street, famous for cool live music. For a really authentic Southern experience check out a `Voodoo and Graveyard' tour or brush up on your cooking skills at the New Orleans Cooking School so you can learn to make yourself a big ole' bowl of gumbo!
As the birthplace of blues and rock 'n' roll, there's no shortage of great music in Memphis to excite your ears. No trip to Memphis is complete without a stroll down Beale Street to see the bright lights and hear the eclectic mix of music flowing out of every doorway. It's also essential to make a pilgrimage to America's second-most visited private home after the White House, Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion, for an included tour of his home and loads of other interesting exhibits. Sun Studio is another must for music fans or find your American soul with a trip to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. Memphis isn't all about music though; brush up on an essential chapter in your American history with an optional visit to the Civil Rights Museum to learn all about the struggle to overcome slavery and oppression.
With some awesome musical cities behind you, your toes will already be tapping as you arrive in 'Music City' itself. Now's the time to don your denim, grab a cowboy hat and learn how to line dance at the Wild Horse Saloon, or get your history fix at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the largest collection of country music in the world. Nashville is famous for its fine music and even finer food, so try the local specialities including Hot Chicken and BBQ ribs.
Surrounded by a huge and extremely picturesque setting, Stone Mountain Park is Georgia's most-visited attraction for a reason. Stone Mountain is the world's largest piece of exposed granite and its famous quartz monzonite dome is where you'll find the incredible carvings that depict the three figures of the Confederate States of America.
St Augustine is commonly known as the 'Nation's Oldest City' and has a strong European influence. Wander down the narrow lanes, visit the many museums and explore some of the city's iconic landmarks such as the Plaza de la Constitucion and the 'Fountain of Youth'. Beautiful beaches are aplenty here in St Augustine, so make sure you grab your swimsuit and enjoy a relaxing swim whilst working on that all-American tan of yours!
Famous for its beaches, shopping, arts and culture, Fort Lauderdale has something for everyone. Get a glimpse of how the other half live with a stroll down Millionaires Row to see the yachts and mansions that line the waterway. Visit the Flamingo Gardens, enjoy a ride on the gondola or simply relax in the glorious sunshine.
Explore the crystal clear waters of Key West with some awesome opportunities for snorkelling and diving. The amount of fun water-based activities to get involved in here is endless. If you simply want to kick back and relax then you're definitely in the right place. Treat yourself to some delicious Key Lime Pie or head down to South Beach, a popular beach with locals and tourists. End your day at the famous Mallory Square and let the celebrations begin as you watch the sun go down.
