All signs lead to Wall Drug - the renowned drugstore in the little frontier town of Wall. It's so big you need a map to get around and it's also your last stop before heading into the Badlands. Touching down here feels more like a moon landing due to the bizarre lunar landscape of low slung buttes, chiselled spires and saw tooth ridges. Ever thought you’d see the faces of four of America's greatest presidents, perfectly sculpted into the side of a cliff? Well you’re about to see them peering out from the granite face of Mount Rushmore. The sculpture features presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln and it's pretty darn huge with 18 metre (60 ft.) faces looming above you. Close by, another ‘must see’ rock carving is the Crazy Horse monument. A memory to the famed Lakota Indian war leader who defeated General Custer, this impressive sight is not to be missed.
