Kick-start the festivities with a journey across New York State and make your way across to Niagara Falls for an evening view, sometimes these falls freeze during winter!
Winter will never be the same again as you lay eyes on the spectacular natural wonder that is Niagara Falls, this time with a daytime viewing. Bundle up warm and make sure you have your camera at the ready. The addition of snow makes your visit to the falls a truly once in a lifetime experience! Cross the nearby Rainbow Bridge into Canada and head to Toronto. For awesome views, opt for a trip up the CN Tower, overlooking Lake Ontario. Just because winter has arrived in Toronto it doesn't mean there isn't a ton of things to do in this cool city, from outdoor activities that embrace the snow to those that keep you inside all warm, like enjoying a spot of people watching from one of the cosy cafes on College or Queen Street.
The excitement levels go up another notch as you roll into Montreal for Christmas! With more French speakers than any city outside of Paris, expect a little European flair. There might be a little chill in the air, but winter in Montreal is no time to hide indoors - it's time to get out there and take advantage of all the seasonal fun on offer. Wake up, wrap up and embrace that festive feeling.
The ‘Ski Capital of the East’ puts on an incredible icy spread and blankets of snow can be seen for miles around. Opt for some ice skating, snowshoeing or skiing action on Mount Mansfield or simply enjoy the old world charm of Stowe village. And if 'Chunky Monkey' and 'Phish Food' mean something to you, then you're going to love an included visit to the one and only Ben & Jerry's ice-cream factory!
Head to Boston for a slice of history starting with a walk along the Freedom Trail and a stop at some of America's historical hotspots. The lamp lit streets and cobblestone alleys create a quaint picture postcard New England scene that'll make this a winter holiday to remember. Wander Quincy Market and later, grab a bite to eat in an Italian trattoria, or treat yourself to a seasonal brew in an Irish pub where you'll find a warm welcome and excellent food! If you need to take the chill off, have a wander around one of the many museums in the city.
Roll into the 'Big Apple' and head out to discover some of the famous sights like Central Park or explore the neighbourhoods from hip Brooklyn to laid-back Greenwich Village. Feel the excitement build as the city revs up for the biggest night of the year. You've seen it on TV, now it's time to join the party and soak up the electric atmosphere in Times Square on New Year's Eve! More than a million people head to NYC for the famous annual event, counting down the seconds to midnight when a huge glittering ball is slowly dropped and a ton of confetti is dropped onto party-goers. You won't want this night to end!
Your tour finishes this morning but there's still time to explore the city, before it's time to wish your new-found friends a 'Happy New Year' and say your fond farewells. If you want to extend your stay and start your year by exploring more of this awesome city, we can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required.
Our tours usually depart at 07:30am and finish around 5:00pm at designated hotels in our gateway cities, so it's a great idea to book a room for the night before and after your tour.
