West Virginia is famous for its mountain scenery and there's heaps to do, but for all the adventure junkies out there, one thing you definitely must do is an optional white water rafting trip. If you want to stay on dry land but still want in on all the action, try your hand at zip lining through the trees for an awesome bird's-eye view of this beautiful ‘Mountain State’.
You'll have no problem understanding why this is the most visited national park in America, it's simply stunning. Known to the Cherokee people as the ‘Place of Blue Smoke’, the valleys offer great walking trails for you to explore. As you hike the amazing trails, keep your eyes peeled for the American Black Bear and the native White-Tailed Deer that also roam the trails.
Leaving the Smokies, you and your fellow Trekkers head to the centre of American country music in Nashville, Tennessee. Expect a big slice of Southern charm where music fills the air; you'll be toe-tapping in no time. You can't come all the way to the music capital without paying a visit to the Jonny Cash Museum or the Country Music Hall of Fame, where you can learn all about the history and tradition of country music. With a capital full of culture, amazing nightlife and a wide mix of culinary delights, you're bound to be more than impressed.
Chicago is awesome! Home to North America's tallest building, the Willis Tower helps make up an incredible skyline that towers over the sandy shoreline of Lake Michigan. Hit the city's highlights on an included 'Bobby's Bike Hike' tour of Chicago, which includes views of the Willis Tower and Navy Pier. Exploring the city on two wheels is a sure-fire way to work up an appetite for a slice of Chicago's famous deep-dish pizza. Listen out for the city's unofficial anthem ‘Sweet Home Chicago’, ringing out from the hip blues joints on soulful Halsted Street.
Cross the Midwest to Cedar Point Amusement Park - home of Millennium Force - the greatest roller coaster in the world! If the thrill of the ride gets too much for you, head to Lake Erie for some chill-out time around a roaring campfire. You won’t arrive until the afternoon when you can buy a ‘Twilight Pass’, but there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the rides!
It's on to one of America's greatest natural attractions, Niagara Falls. Experience the full force of the falls as you wear your waterproof blue poncho and hop aboard an included ‘Maid of the Mist’ cruise. Prepare to get a little wet as you get up close and personal to a serious amount of water! For the ultimate show, head to the falls at night and see them lit up in all their glory.
You make a final pit stop in the rural Finger Lakes region of New York State, for one last nature fix before you head back to the hustle and bustle of city life. The Finger Lakes are unique, full of beautiful waterfalls and world-class wineries. After that it’s time to say goodbye to your new Trek buddies.
