This 21 day epic road trip kicks off with some of the East Coast's most thrilling cities giving you your first taste of the good ‘ole US of A! Grab yourself a delicious Philly cheesesteak sandwich and hit the famous 'Rocky' steps to enjoy your own movie moment! Next it's on to the capital. A great way to discover the city’s hidden gems is to jump on a bike on our included tour, where you'll see some of Washington's most iconic monuments. Be sure to get a snap of the White House and check out the Smithsonian National Museums.

North Carolina's one heck of a beautiful state and as you make your way to the state capital, Raleigh, you'll drive past some amazing scenery. Once in town take a scenic stroll down the Neuse River Trail and keep an eye out for local wildlife. Raleigh is also known for having the best darned hot dogs on the planet, so why not treat yourself to one? When in Raleigh, right?

The so-called 'Capital of the South' is rich in history, a buzzing metropolis just waiting for you to explore. With the beautiful Appalachian Mountains as the city's backdrop, Birmingham has a lot to offer all who visit. Make sure you take time to learn all about Dr Martin Luther King and his fight for equality with the Civil Rights Movement before listening to some awesome live music in the evening. Most departures will be in Birmingham on a Saturday night where it’s possible to visit Gip’s Place – one of the few remaining genuine juke joints. You’ll need to take a taxi there as your leader will be driving the following morning, but it’s a real taste of southern hospitality!

Head into the enchanting French Quarter with your tour leader, and take the chance to tuck into some classic and delicious Southern cuisine. Join a 'Voodoo and Graveyard' tour if you want to see another side to the city or jump aboard an optional steamboat ride on the Mississippi River. After a day of exploring, head for the legendary nightlife of Bourbon Street, where almost anything goes, or to Preservation Hall for world-class jazz up close and personal. New Orleans is a place full of life and somewhere you won't forget in a long, long time.

Memphis is the birthplace of rock 'n' roll, and you won't want to miss out on a visit to Sun Studio where the likes of Johnny Cash and BB King recorded some of their most famous records. Head on down to Beale Street where music is literally playing around every corner. Of course you can't go home without an included trip to the former home of 'The King' Elvis Presley in Graceland. There's more to Memphis than just music though; pay a visit to the National Civil Rights Museum located in the former Lorraine Hotel and see the place where Martin Luther King was assassinated.

If the thrill of the ride gets too much for you then you can relax by Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes of America, where you'll be camping for the night.

A city that offers a great mix of the old and the new. Learn about the country's history with a self-guided walk along the Freedom Trail. Boston isn't all about the history, though: why not check out Harvard University to see the brains of America hard at work? AIRPORT TRANSFER INFORMATION - NEWARK AIRPORT

Transportation from Newark International Airport is the cheapest and most convenient. From Baggage Claim at the airport, take the AIRTRAIN to station P4 and wait for the Hilton Newark Airport Complimentary Shuttle. This will bring you directly to the Hotel and a shuttle arrives/departs every 15-20 minutes. The journey will take approximately 10mins, depending on traffic. It is customary to tip the driver who helps you with your bag ($1-$2 per bag).

 

AIRPORT TRANSFER INFORMATION - JFK & LA GUARDIA AIRPORTS

From both JFK and La Guardia airports you must first transfer to New York Penn Station located at 31st and 7th Streets in Midtown Manhattan and then take another transfer to Newark International Airport. 

1). To transfer from the airport to New York Penn Station: 
By Shuttle: You can pre-book your transfer on the Super Shuttle website by searching for "Penn Station" landmark when prompted. A shared transfer service costs US$19 plus tip. 

By Bus: The most convenient service is the "New York Airport Express Service Bus". This bus departs from both airports every 20-30 minutes (7am- midnight) and stops are located at the 'Express Bus Stop' at each airport terminal. Cost is US$15. For reservations or for more info call (718) 875-8200 or visit their website at www.nyairportservice.com/. Use taxis for transport during the hours of midnight-7am. 

2). To transfer from NY Penn Station to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station: 
Trains depart New York Penn Station every 10-15 minutes to Newark Airport. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket window for approx. $12.50 and wait until the train board displays your track. ALL trains that go to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station are displayed as "EWR." The train ride to the airport station is about 25 minutes and you will be asked to show you ticket while on the train. 

3.) To transfer from Newark Liberty International Train Station to the Hilton Newark Airport: 
After exiting the train follow the signs for the "AIRTRAIN". Take the AIRTRAIN to station P4 and wait for the Hilton Newark Airport Complimentary Shuttle. This will bring you directly to the Hotel and a shuttle arrives/departs every 15-20 minutes. It is customary to tip the driver who helps you with your bag ($1-$2 per bag).
