  • All Accommodation Included

Whether you choose a camping, budget lodging, or hotel based tour, all of your accommodation during the trip is included in the price.

On camping tours we provide all the necessary equipment including high quality tents, a padded roll mat to sleep on, camp lights, food storage containers and cooking equipment. All you need to bring is a sleeping bag! We also suggest you bring a mat for camping in South America. Most camping trips will also have some nights spent at hotels or hostels in cities, included in the tour cost. Budget lodging tours stay in clean, comfy accommodation offering value for money, and on our Plus tours you'll stay in well located hotels, for a home away from home experience.

  • All transport

In North America you'll travel in a private vehicle offering greater flexibility and convenience to get you further off the beaten path than you ever could using public transportation. Our Original small group trips use private vehicles driven by your tour leader and our Plus tours use private coaches with the benefit of both a driver and a tour leader. In mainland USA, our vehicles are equipped with Wi-Fi (excludes Alaska & Hawaii).

In Central and South America. our BOLT tours use public transport including local buses, flights and private vehicles. These varied modes of transport mean you get around affordably and ensure you get to experience local life. Our Overland tours you'll travel in powerful, purpose-built Mercedes Benz expedition vehicles suitable to the rugged landscape with the benefit of both a driver and a tour leader and plenty of space to enjoy the journey!

  • An experienced TrekAmerica tour leader

Sure, it's possible to get around on your own, but the vast distances and limitless options available can be daunting. Our tour leaders know the best places to go, how to get there and what to do when you arrive, ensuring you make the most of every moment.

  • Included activities unique to each tour

There's always something happening on a TrekAmerica tour, and many of the must-do activities are included in the price. From overnight cowboy camps to canoeing in the Canadian wilderness, we offer more inclusions in the price than any other operator. Check out the individual tour page to see what excited activities you'll be experiencing on your Trek.

Canadian Rafting Group
  • All National Park entrance fees

Most national parks in America charge an entrance fee of up to US$25 per park. But don't worry, when you travel with TrekAmerica, you won't pay any national park entry fees as these are all included in your tour.

Merced River, Yosemite
  • No single supplements

When you travel with TrekAmerica as a single traveller you won't pay a single supplement. The majority of our Trekkers are travelling alone, and you'll share a tent or room with another single traveller of the same sex.

No forced single supplements

Paid locally for added flexibility

  • Food on the road

On USA and Canada camping trips everyone contributes $10 a day to a food kitty ($15 a day in Hawaii). You'll purchase food as a group along the way and prepare healthy and delicious meals at a fraction of the cost of eating out every night. This kitty covers three meals on most days whilst camping. Occasionally we'll eat at a restaurant, each paying our own way. On Plus tours breakfasts are usually included, as are some dinners, which have been carefully selected to provide you with some local flavour. All other meals are chosen by you - your tour leader will point out any foodie hotspots or local treats you should try!

There's no food kitty on our budget lodging or Central America BOLT tours and all meals are paid for locally. However, your tour leader may suggest an optional breakfast or lunch kitty to keep your costs down. See individual tour pages for specific meal inclusions on your trip.

  • Optional Activities

In addition to the many included highlights and activities, there are also lots of optional activities for you to choose from during your trip. We keep these optional so you have the flexibility to do the things you want to and leave out the things you don't, according to taste and budget.
