Flexible Itinerary

Our routes have been carefully chosen to include the best night stops and highlights. However, as local conditions and passenger requests vary, no two trips will ever be the same. With the guidance of your Trek Leader you may modify certain night stops and highlights to give a truly unique experience!

As this tour departs at 0730 we recommend that you book pre-tour accommodation. Please request hotel details at the time of booking.

Day 1: Miami & Everglades

Cruise out of Miami and head towards the Everglades area, famous for close encounters with alligators! Skim over the 'River of Grass' on an airboat river trip and splash through swamps on a buggy tour where you'll come face to face with gators, birds, fish and snakes. Then huddle around the evening campfire before spending the night in your 'chickee' - a native-style thatched roof dwelling. The 'chickees' are a wonderful experience, but basic in nature with no electricity and a shared bathroom.

Day 2: Biscayne National Park & Key West

A top snorkelling and scuba diving destination, Biscayne National Park is 95% water and is the largest marine park in the USA. It's the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon snorkelling (gear included) amongst the coral reefs! Next up, cross the famous long bridges to Key West ready for an action packed evening tasting the beach front bars and clubs.

Day 3: Key West

Key West is a magical place and without doubt, the pearl of Florida, with an average temperature of 26 degrees. Enjoy the laid back Caribbean vibe which Ernest Hemingway took so much solace in; he lived and wrote here for over 10 years. Numerous dive and snorkel boats will show you the underwater coral reef with world famous fishing opportunities or simply laze on idyllic beaches, wander the shops or people-watch from a local café. Feast on fresh seafood at fine restaurants and make sure you finish off with a slice of Key Lime Pie.

Day 4: Key West & Miami

Today is free to explore at leisure and at your own pace, or take a number of optional excursions. You have free time to enjoy the Florida Keys sun before returning to Miami. Why not extend your stay by adding on some additional accommodation in Miami?

This tour ends at our gateway hotel at approximately 17:00 hrs. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
