  • Day: 1-2 Los Angeles & San Diego

On day one we leave LA to follow the coast south to California's answer to winter weather, "always temperate" San Diego. A perfect climate, great zoo and heaps of Spanish charm see your trip off to a flyer. Get drenched by SeaWorld's killer whales, unleash some long-lost skating moves then rub shoulders with the surf set in laid-back beach haunts. It's easy to agree with the locals who call their home "America's Finest City".
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 3-4 Colorado River & Wild West Cowboy Camp

Along California's watery border with Arizona we'll pick a prime spot to pitch canvas out under the desert stars. Head further into Arizona's and a night at our authentic Cowboy Camp to do the Old West thing. Saguaro cacti cast familiar shapes, across the Sonora Desert brush with coyotes, hawks, and star-filled skies for company Enjoy delicious meals and opt to horseride under the desert sky.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 5 Monument Valley

Monument Valley, a land of classic western scenery, is the Navajo Nation's greatest natural treasure. Say 'Howdy' to your Indian hogan. Yep, that's a traditional clay and wood Navajo dwelling; and after touring this wondrous natural movie set with our Navajo guide, there's no better place to lay your head.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 6-7 Grand Canyon National Park

Just when the scenery seems unbeatable, journey to the Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Walk the rim and gaze spellbound into the depths, hike down a canyon trail, or take a scenic flight for a "bird's eye" view. The best bit? Perhaps awaking to the most stunning sunrise nature can summon.
Accommodation: 2 en-route hotel nights paid locally

  • Day: 8-9 Las Vegas

On to an incredible man-made wonder in the desert - Las Vegas - "The City That Never Sleeps". So much leftfield stuff is part and parcel of Sin City: Caesars Palace mall attendants in full centurion garb; a mock volcano erupting through the evening and newly-weds partying on The Strip. It's brash, it's bizarre. it's brilliant. Catch a show, ride a roller coaster and enjoy its famous bright lights, casino gambling and non-stop nightlife.
Accommodation: 2 en-route hotel nights paid locally

  • Day: 10 San Joaquin Valley

Delve into the 'nation's salad bowl', a vast tract striped with crops galore, and often dressed with wispy winter fog.
Accommodation: En-route hotel night paid locally

  • Day: 11-12 San Francisco

Next, "Everybody's Favourite City", San Francisco, with its endless options: walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, ride the cable cars up and down the fabled, steep streets, view the Bay and Alcatraz, shop in Chinatown and Union Square and chill in ex-hippie heaven, Haight-Ashbury. Later, dress to impress as the North Beach bars compete for your custom.
Accommodation: 2 en-route hotel nights paid locally

  • Day: 13-14 Pacific Coast & Los Angeles

After leaving our hearts in San Francisco, we travel south and the winding roads showcase cracking coastal views as LA looms large once again. Get into celeb-spotting mode; we're touring Hollywood and you never know your luck.
Accommodation: Camping included on day 13.

This tour ends at our gateway hotel at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
