  • Day 1: New York Area & Niagara Falls

From the New York area to the edge of Lake Ontario, the sensation of crashing water is stupendous, the noise immense, at America's greatest national attractions, Niagara Falls. Wait 'til until you're down on the water aboard the included 'Maid of the Mist' cruise, where the cascades pound, churn and foam right before your eyes. That's what you call a front row seat! Your leader will take you back to the falls at night where the light show reveals the falls in a very different light.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 2: Ohio

Ask a "Buckeye" to tell you all about their state nut or how cool they think Cedar Point Amusement Park's rollercoasters are! Ride the Millennium Force - the greatest roller coaster in the world!
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 3-4: Shipshewana & Chicago

Our next stop is a visit to the Amish community in Shipshewana who maintain a more traditional way of life, and in some cases without electricity, cars and travelling by horse and cart. From here we make a brief stop to Gary, Indiana for a photo of the house that Michael Jackson grew up in, before arriving to Chicago - the "Windy City", home to some of the greatest blues music in America. Why not soar up Willis Tower for dizzying views over the Windy City or trawl the upmarket malls of Magnificent Mile and grab a slice of Chicago's deep-dish pizza before taking to peddle power on the famous "Bobby's Bike Hike" tour (optional).
    Accommodation: Hostel included

  • Day 5-6: South Dakota & Badlands

Head out across the great prairies and America's original western frontier. We pass though Wisconsin, the American home of cheese where your leader will introduce a taste of Wisconsin into your meals. We also make visits to the famous Jolly Green Giant Statue in Blue Earth before settling in for the night. Resident coyotes may utter the occasional howl as you settle back for some shut-eye under canvas. Then never mind the "bad lands", touching down here feels like a moon landing. Low-slung buttes, chiselled spires and saw-tooth ridges have a bizarre lunar quality as you swap some photos. En route we enjoy a visit to Wal-Drug, so large you need a map to wander around for that 'only in America' experience.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 7-8: Mount Rushmore & Cody, Wyoming

You'll agree with the Lakota people; from afar the pine-coated hills do appear black. Mount Rushmore's next and the uniquely sculptured faces of our four greatest Presidents. Close by, another rock-carved epic is shaping up: the Crazy Horse monument, a nod to the famed Lakota Indian war leader, very impressive! Next, it's into Wild Wyoming, the heart of cowboy country, and this is what Cody is all about. Named after William Cody (aka Buffalo Bill), the old west is alive and literally kicking here. After all, "Cody is rodeo", with nightly summer shows.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 9-10: Yellowstone National Park

Pitch up in the world's first National Park, Yellowstone. This is a superb wilderness of spouting geysers, waterfalls and simmering mud pools. A-grade American stars grace the trails - keep your eyes peeled for this abundant wildlife. Large herds of bison and elk roam the park and if you're lucky, you may even see bear or wolf. Yellowstone is a park so varied in its offering and it will leave you open-jawed as you see lush valleys, bubbling geysers including Old Faithful, petrified forests and towering waterfalls. Yellowstone ticks all the boxes!
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 11-13: Montana & Glacier National Park

Montana is often referred to as 'Big Sky Country' because of its numerous stars, but it is also a trekkers' paradise. With two days in Glacier, you'll have plenty of time to explore the alpine meadows, snow-streaked cliffs and shimmering lakes. This area sure adds a healthy dose of the wow factor. Glacier is well-known for the high chances to see black bear, and the incredible walking trails which are blessed with wild flowers in the spring and incredible vistas.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 14-15: Banff National Park

Explore show-stopping trails with picturesque switchbacks, chiselled canyons and mirrored lakes, and even hover above by helicopter for a bird's-eye view. One dunk in the hot springs and a drink or two later, you'll be sleeping like a log.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 16-17: Lake Louise & British Columbia

A nickname like the "gem of the Rockies" is a lot to live up to, but it's no sweat for Lake Louise. The imposing chateau looks on as mountains cluster round the turquoise surface. As for you, well, you could always hike out to the Plain-of-Six-Glaciers or inspect the scene by paddle power on an optional canoe trip. Heading through BC, appreciate the mirrored lakes, grizzled peaks and spectacular scenery as dark conifers and shadowy summits drift by.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 18: Vancouver

Along the highway, prime vistas escort you right into Vancouver. With its stunning combination of mountains and coastline, the city boasts outstanding views. Take to Stanley Park on two wheels, then regain your inner city slicker around A-grade museums and galleries or bustling Granville Market. Why not check out the city nightlife in Gas Town or the eclectic "Robsonstrasse" tonight.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 19: Seattle

Beam yourself up! A beautiful green city and former home of the singer Kurt Cobain there is loads to fill your time. Take the glass-fronted elevator up the iconic Space Needle and gaze out over the Puget Sound, visit Pike market where you can see market stall holders 'toss the Pike fish', visit chewing gum alley, or hit the nightlife which Seattle has come to be known for. It is also the founding city of Starbuck's coffee but be prepared to queue.
    Accommodation: Hostel included

  • Day 20: Florence, Oregon Coast

The Florence Oregon Coast is the perfect place for relaxation and fun. You'll find beautiful evergreen forests, the sparkling Pacific Ocean and towering dunes for you to spend time climbing and rolling down. Take time out swimming and having fun in the Oregon sunshine
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 21-22: Redwood National Park

You will amazed to walk amongst the towering forest giants of Redwood National Park - home to the tallest trees in the world and some of the most spectacular coastal scenery on the Pacific Coast. Leave footprints on what is virtually your private Pacific beach or traipse between gigantic Redwoods, feeling like ants in their mighty shadow.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 23-24: San Francisco

Next, "Everybody's Favourite City", San Francisco. This town will blow you away. Sunlight on the bay, wispy fog around Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars climbing steep streets: it's a 24-carat stunner. Included is a tour of San Francisco visiting Golden gate Bridge with the chance to walk across, followed up by a visit to Haight-Ashbury which inspired a generation of hippies and some of the best music from the 1960's and 70's. Maybe view the Bay and Alcatraz on an optional sunset sailboat cruise, then the party people can flock to trendy bars and clubs in North Beach or Haight-Ashbury and that friendly vibe gets even better.
    Accommodation: Hotel included

  • Day 25-26: Yosemite National Park

Heading east through California's gold country we continue our scenic drive into the Yosemite National Park region with the chance to hike or bike, through the extraordinary landscape of glacier-carved granite monoliths and spectacular waterfalls. Either way, this park rocks! Once deep inside Yosemite, keep your eyes peeled for black bears. Coyote roam freely as well and when the sun goes down, their howling often echoes amidst pines and Giant Sequoias. Admit it, this is what clicks the spirit of the great outdoors up a notch or two.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 27: Monterey & Big Sur

Travelling further down the California coastline we reach the city of Monterey where your leader takes you on a guided tour on one of the coastal trails with the chance to see whales and sea lions who frequent the area between April and October. Monterey is a great city to dust off your last clean clothes and head out to explore the city after dark.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 28: Santa Barbara & Los Angeles

From coastal California to Hollywood, its hill-perched sign waits as you embark on one final fling with this incredible and diverse continent to the 'City of Angeles'. Along the way we stop for the iconic view of McWay Falls at Big Sur State Park and enjoy a lunch stop in Santa Barbara. Upon reaching LA we visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame with views of the massive Hollywood sign. This epic tour ends upon reaching the hotel leaving you with a bag full of memories and new friends!

This tour ends at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 22:00 hrs.
