  • Day 1-2: New York Area, Philadelphia & Washington DC

    Start your epic road trip with a journey to Philadelphia, where you can climb the famous 'Rocky' steps for your own movie moment, see the iconic symbols of American independence, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. America is known for its food, so while in Philly make sure you head to Reading Terminal Market, the selection of food on offer is fab! For the ultimate treat why not devour a famous Philly cheese steak lunch. Then it's onto Washington DC for an introduction to the political, social and cultural history of the USA. Take time to explore the very best of America's capital city by people watching in one of the many green parks. History buffs can get their kicks at the legendary Smithsonian National Museum, the largest museum complex in the world. The bars of Georgetown are awaiting your discovery, so grab your mates and enjoy a tipple or two and enjoy the treasures of this city by night.

  • Day 3: Appalachian Mountains

    From the Shenandoah to the lush, natural beauty of the Appalachians - this super-sized, 1500 mile mountain chain is superb for a stretch of the legs. Also home to the American Black Bear and former haunt of the Cherokee Indians, there's time for a short walk in the Appalachians to show you why thousands flock here every year, before continuing on to the Deep South.

  • Day 4: Nashville

    Denim and cowboy hats at the ready? Good, `cause you're in Nashville and that's how they roll! Music flows through the streets and you'll be toe-tapping from the get go in this awesome `Music City'. Get your history fix at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the largest collection of country music in the world. Nashville is famous for its fine music and even finer food, so try the local specialities including hot chicken and BBQ ribs. Nashville puts on a wicked party, so head to the Grand Ole Opry and dance the night away with your new found line dancing skills.

  • Day 5: Memphis

    As the birthplace of blues and jazz there's no shortage of great music to excite your ears. Brush up on your history as you visit the Civil Rights Museum to learn all about the struggle to overcome slavery and see where Martin Luther King was assassinated. Find your American soul with a trip to Stax Museum of American Soul Music. No trip to Memphis is complete without a stroll down Beale Street to see the bright lights and hear the eclectic mix of blues and jazz flowing from every doorway. Finish your visit to Memphis with an optional visit to the second-most visited private home in the USA after the White House, Elvis Presley's house in Graceland.

  • Day 6-7: New Orleans

    Next is a city that requires no introduction, New Orleans! The laid back vibes, delicious food and all important Southern charm make this Deep South city one of the highlights of on your all-American road trip! Explore the enchanting French Quarter, ride a steamboat on the Mississippi River, enjoy traditional jazz at Preservation Hall or sample a `Hurricane' cocktail at Pat O'Brien's! For a really authentic Southern experience check out a `Voodoo and Graveyard' tour or brush up on your cooking skills at the New Orleans School of Cooking and cook up a big ole' bowl of gumbo! You'll stay right in the heart of the French Quarter so you're never far from all the toe-tapping action!

  • Day 8: Sam Houston Jones

    Sam Houston Jones is teeming with awesome wildlife that lives amongst the tree-filled lagoons and pine forests. This naturally beautiful area also creates the perfect conditions for an array of birdlife unique to Louisiana. With a night in a cabin near the water and an evening campfire, it makes for a wonderful place to sleep and cook s'mores with your travel buddies.

  • Day 9: San Antonio

    Today you head west to historic San Antonio, home of the Alamo; a symbol of Texan pride. San Antonio has a rich and colourful past with strong cultural links to its southern neighbours. The famous River Walk is a subterranean complex of boutique shops, bars and restaurants that meanders for 2.5 miles through the wooded downtown area. It's a fantastic place to while away the afternoon, just make sure you take advantage of the tax free shopping!

  • Day 10-11: Big Bend National Park

    Situated right on the Mexican border and named after the sharp twist in the Rio Grande, you're going to have a fantastic time in this truly memorable national park. Dust off your walking boots as it's time to hit the many desert trails where you'll see plants, lizards and fields of cacti, finishing with a blazing sunset. Don't forget to check out the `Lost Mine Trail' before finishing your day with a much needed soak in the local hot springs.

  • Day 12: White Sands National Monument (2016 only)

    One of America's hidden gems is White Sands National Monument; the world's largest dune field made up of blinding white gypsum sand. These rolling white dunes have made it into several movies - if you've ever seen the movie Transformers, you've seen White Sands. With huge mountain ranges to the east and west, White Sands is famous for wildly colourful sunrises and sunsets. Why not rent sand boards at the gift shop to experience these dunes the high-adrenaline way?

  • Day 13: Tombstone

    You don't get much more Wild West than Tombstone, `the town too tough to die'. Unlike some towns that are recreated to look Western, the buildings in Tombstone are the originals and the locals are proud to preserve their heritage. The merchants run their stores in their Western wear and actors playing the parts of famous locals stroll around Allen Street between shows. Saloons like Big Nose Kate's and Doc Holliday's have bar maids dressed as Western saloon girls that call out at passers-by. In the outskirts of town the Boothill Cemetery is where people can visit the grave sites of those that died here. Don't miss the re-enactment of the showdown and a chance to get dressed up in authentic Western clothing. This is the perfect opportunity to snap a Wild West selfie with your fellow cowboys and cowgirls!

  • Day 14: Betty & Rusty's Wild West Cowboy Camp

    Today you're in for a treat with a stop at an authentic Wild West cowboy camp. You and your band of desperados will strike gold on a unique night in the sticks! Opt to mount your trusty steed and trot between the iconic saguaro cacti, with curved arms looming as high as 20 feet. Fresh from the saddle, tuck into an authentic dinner cooked on the open fire before a night under a million desert stars, this is an experience you'll be reliving for years to come!

  • Day 15: Monument Valley

    Monument Valley, a land of classic Western scenery and the Navajo Nation's greatest natural treasure is next on the cards! An included 4x4 jeep tour with a Navajo guide will take you into a remote area made famous by scores of celebrated Western movies. To top off an awesome day of learning and exploring you'll then spend an unforgettable night in a traditional Navajo hogan, hearing secret stories of Navajo legends around a roaring campfire.

  • Day 16-17: Grand Canyon National Park

    Just when you thought you'd it seen it all, life got a little more awesome as you and your road trip posse pull up at the epic Grand Canyon! This place is the real deal and as you hit the trails and soak in all this inspiring scenery you'll be lost for words. Pack your boots, camera and water before venturing into the canyon itself along the Bright Angel Trail to Plateau Point. For a one of a kind (some would say life changing) experience, choose to take to the skies and fly over the vast canyon below for one truly unmissable scenic helicopter flight. Speechless? You should be! Mother Nature just keeps on giving as you watch the sun rise or set over this special place and capture some amazing photographs to show the folks back home!

  • Day 18-19: Route 66 & Las Vegas

    Get the true American road trip experience with a cruise along a section of the original Route 66 and a slice of old Americana. Pick up some quirky in memorabilia and a cheeky shake in the town of Seligman. Next up is the incredible man-made wonder in the desert - Las Vegas. 'The Strip', the shows, the hotels, the clubs; Sin City's glitziest and brashest spots are sure to impress as you cruise the Las Vegas Boulevard on an optional limo ride! Live life on the edge and head to the top of the Vegas' Stratosphere Hotel to discover the world's highest thrill rides. If that's not enough excitement for you, take a helicopter flight down 'The Strip' and see this neon city from the sky. Shock the folks back home with a sham wedding (don't worry, it's not legally binding unless you want it to be!), live for the moment and marry whoever (and whatever) you like. only in Vegas!

  • Day 20: Death Valley National Park

    Your desert experience is complete with this perfect winter destination: Death Valley National Park. The blistering summer heat is can be too much to handle, so this national park is the ultimate winter treat. Explore this unique landscape, head down to the valley floor and walk on the salt flats where you can get creative with some cool perspective shots. Other highlights include the Artist's Palette where you'll see a spectacular view of turquoise, orange and red rock as far as the eye can see.

  • Day 21: Los Angeles

    Your final destination is glitzy Los Angeles. Swing by Hollywood for a stroll on the `Walk of Fame' and get that iconic shot of the gigantic Hollywood sign - the spot where dreams are made. Venice Beach is calling and it's the perfect place for you to enjoy a little more of that sweet Californian sunshine! Then it's onto your hotel where this larger-than-life trip ends and it's time to say goodbye to your new found Trek mates!

    This tour ends at our gateway hotel at approximately 17:00 hrs. We recommend booking post-tour accommodation if time allows. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
