Our routes have been carefully chosen to include the best night stops and highlights. However, as local conditions and passenger requests vary, no two trips will ever be the same. With the help of your Trek Leader and fellow trekkers you may modify certain nightstops and highlights to give a truly unique experience!

• Days: 1-2 New York & Washington DC

Departing from New York City, travel to the Nation's Capital, Washington DC, for a perfect introduction to the cultural and political history of the United States. Our illuminated tour of the spectacular monuments offers a great overview to the highlights of this area. Enjoy a whole day visiting the famous museums and historical monuments!

• Days: 3-6 Virginia, Nashville & Memphis

Next, venture through the Appalachian Mountains to the center of American country music in Nashville, Tennessee. Learn to country dance, walk the riverfront or shop at the many stores downtown. A short distance away Elvis' home town, Memphis. Tour Graceland or stroll along Beale Street to see the influences that Blues and Jazz music has had on America.

• Days: 7-8 New Orleans

Then to New Orleans with all it's charm and character. Ride a steamboat on the Mississippi River, sample Cajun food, relax to the sounds of a Jazz or Dixieland band in the French Quarter and join the ongoing party on Bourbon Street. New Orleans has more than just food, drink and music to offer. Join a swamp tour into the alligator habitat of southern Louisiana, to view all sorts of wildlife on the mysterious bayous of Cajun country.

• Days: 9-11 Texas & Carlsbad Caverns

Journey west through Texas and a stop in youthful Austin. From hiking and biking to outdoor festivals and endless shopping, this city is packed with "Texas sized" excitement! Continue on to Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico and explore one of the largest cave systems in the World.

• Days: 12-14 Sante Fe & Monument Valley

Next, spend two nights in America's oldest capital city, Santa Fe. Walk through the town square and admire the unique influences that the Native Americans have had on this region. Venturing further into the desert southwest we explore Monument Valley, home of the Navajo Indians where massive buttes, mesas and breathtaking sunrises can be viewed. Learn about their fascinating past while exploring the area on an optional Navajo-guided jeep tour and mix with the Native Americans while purchasing their handcrafted goods.

• Days: 15-16 Grand Canyon Region

Off to the Grand Canyon National Park, where unfortunately (or fortunately) no photograph or description can prepare you for the inconceivable expanse of space, colour and bewildering shapes you will witness. No matter if you hike, take a scenic flight or simply gaze into it's vastness at sunset, you will be amazed at one of the world's greatest natural wonders.

• Days: 17-18 Las Vegas

Back to the modern world with a bang - Las Vegas - the greatest show on earth! Cruise "The Strip" in a super-stretch limo, indulge in an all-you-can eat buffet, take in a show or just watch the amazing crowds, neon signs and attractions that many hotel casinos have to offer. And if that's not enough, take a helicopter flight down The Strip or just gamble the night away in one of the world class casinos.

• Days: 19-21 San Diego & Los Angeles

In San Diego, visit the nationally known San Diego Zoo or get wet at Sea World. Rent bicycles, rollerblades and surfboards at the beach or just relax in the sun before heading to Los Angeles.

Tour ends at 18:00 hrs in Los Angeles on day 21.
