Day: 1
Los Angeles & Death Valley National Park
We head out of LA on day one and our desert experience begins at the perfect winter destination: Death Valley National Park. The blistering summer heat is no more, so your camera will lap up sights like Artist's Palette, a giant egg-box of turquoise, orange and red mineral deposits, Zabriskie Point, and the immense perspectives of Dante's View, a perfect view indeed!
Accommodation: Camping included

Day: 2-3
Las Vegas
On to an incredible man-made wonder in the desert - Las Vegas - "The City That Never Sleeps". So much leftfield stuff is part and parcel of Sin City: Caesars Palace mall attendants in full centurion garb; a mock volcano erupting through the evening and newly-weds partying on The Strip. It's brash, it's bizarre, it's brilliant. Catch a show, ride a roller coaster and enjoy its famous bright lights, casino gambling and non-stop nightlife.

El Paso & Big Bend National Park
In El Paso's San Jacinta Plaza, a gator statue stands proud. Real live ones dwelt here until 1965, and the early resident reptiles even stayed in local saloons during cold snaps! As temperatures slack off for winter, negotiate miles of dirt and paved trails snaking through the stark wilderness.
