ITINERARY

Our routes have been carefully chosen to include the best night stops and highlights. However, as local and operational conditions may vary and unforeseen circumstances can arise, the following itinerary should be used as a guideline.

• Day: 1-3 Seattle, Kamloops & Yoho National Park

Departing the Emerald City we cross the border to the majestic Canadian Rockies and a scenic drive to Kamloops, the gateway to the Rockies' parks. See towering Mount Revelstoke and travel through Glacier National Parks along the route to Yoho (a native word meaning awe). Our home for the next two nights is the small town of Golden in the valley of the Kicking Horse River. Experience the raging Kicking Horse firsthand with an exhilarating half-day whitewater raft ride, or choose to canoe and hike at magnificent Emerald Lake. The challenging trails overlooking the Takakkaw Falls are also an excellent option!

• Day: 4-5 Banff National Park

Depart for Banff along the superb scenic road via Lake Louise. With photo opportunities at every turn, the Banff sunset in particular must be appreciated while soaking in the natural hot springs! Banff's nightlife offers great live music and a fine selection of restaurants, however, the real treat are the activities. Canoe the Bow River, mountain bike or view the scenic grandeur from a helicopter. Outstanding hikes will be available and, with the abundant wildlife, there is always a good chance of seeing bears from a safe distance.

• Day: 6-7 Ice Fields Parkway & Jasper National Park

The Icefields Parkway through the heart of the Rockies is surely one of the world's ultimate drives. Peyto Lake's turquoise hues startle with their brilliance. Parker Ridge Trail rewards one with panoramic views of the Saskatchewan Glacier winding through pristine, mountain-studded terrain. Why not traverse a portion of the imposing Athabasca Glacier on a guided glacier hike? Next is Jasper National Park: start by taking the cable car to Whistler Mountain for a bird's eye view of this splendid park. The next day offers mountain biking or hiking amidst glorious lakeside scenery, or visit Mt. Edith Cavell for tremendous views of Angel Glacier and various hiking options.

• Day: 8 Caribou Country

Mt. Robson, highest peak (3954m) in the Canadian Rockies offers a great photo op, before arriving at our hotel in Caribou Country. Kick back and enjoy the swimming pool, or hop onto a horse for an optional afternoon ride. After dinner, a relaxing whirlpool and sauna await.

• Day: 9-10 Vancouver & Seattle

Crossing the Camelsfoot Range, we parallel the Fraser River during a captivating drive, to Vancouver, Canada's most spectacularly situated city. A short tour encompassing Chinatown and Stanley Park's totem poles, leaves the afternoon free for exploration. Dinner in historic Gastown climaxes our day and offers a perfect setting for reliving the excitement we have shared. The next day, visit Seattle's famous Pike Place Market. Sample America's best coffee or microbeers, explore the waterfronts, browse fine bookstores or ride to the Space Needle's top...a fitting end to an impressive, activity-filled tour.

Tour ends at approx 17:00 hrs in Seattle on day 10.
