Day: 1-2
Anchorage & Wrangell-St. Elias National Park
Leaving Anchorage we test the challenging McCarthy Road north past the massive Mantanuska Glacier. This humongous expanse claims Alaska's wild crown hands down. Untended trails, unpaved roads and unending views for the next 2 days are exactly what you signed up for! As the Wrangell Mountains cast their lengthy shadow, ready yourself for some top-notch glacier action. How about a guided hike on the Kennicott Glacier, or for a more vertical challenge, clipping on the crampons for ice climbing on Root Glacier.
Accommodation: Camping included
-
Day: 3
Tangle Lakes
Great name and great place to chill out after the challenging, yet scenic drive, along the Alaska Mountain Range, crossing the famous 800-mile-long Alaskan Pipeline. Lake-splattered green plains stretch to distant mountains, and some wilderness canoeing should up your pulse rate.
Accommodation: Camping included

Day: 4-6
Denali National Park
You'll be glad summer puts in so many overtime hours of daylight this far north. It's time to get stuck into the vast expanse of Denali National Park. Travel the lone road in this awe-inspiring national park for two full days to endless views and hiking opportunities. Snap a few shots of moose, caribou, fox and of course grizzily bear on our scenic bus ride and hike in the shadows of Mt. McKinley. Standing at over 20,320 feet, North America's highest mountain dominates every view on a blue sky day.
Accommodation: Camping included
-
Day: 7
Anchorage
Okay, so once you've done the wilderness at ground level, set your sights a tad higher. Choose to soar over snow-capped peaks and see glacier-forged patterns from on high, the optional scenic flight will blow you away. Tonight in Anchorage we sample the sights and nightlife in this state's largest city but the six surrounding mountain ranges soon have you yearning for the big open country again.
Accommodation: Camping included
-
Day: 8-10
Seward
Heading south from Anchorage, follow the Cook Inlet Resurrection Bay. From our base in Seward, hop on a boat and explore Kenai Fjords National Park. Killer whales, porpoises and sea otters often frolic within this white and electric blue scene, where glaciers calve huge hunks of ice into the sea with an ear-splitting crack. Dry land provides a pick for hikers: the leisurely trip to Exit Glacier or the tougher trek on Harding Icefields will be sure to impress!
Accommodation: Camping included
-
Day: 11
Luxury Wilderness Camp
One scenic boat ride later, and it's welcome to Kachemak Bay and our luxury wilderness camp with the dramatic Kenai Mountains for company. An authentic Alaskan salmon bake is your tasty reward after all your mountain biking or your included sea kayaking adventure.
Accommodation: Camping included
-
Day: 12
Homer
Across the Bay, a little R&R is on the cards in this once-isolated fishing village at the "End of the Road". Halibut fishing is king here though beachcombing the sands of the 'spit' or enjoying the quiet streets and getting acquainted with the locals are other ways to take it nice and easy.
Accommodation: Camping included
-
Day: 13
Kenai National Wildlife Refuge
Crossing to the other side of the peninsula, the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge awaits. One word: wow! If you opt for the canoe view, the pine-enclosed lakes often deliver the sight of eagles surveying all from treetop perches or moose grazing by the shore. For more adventure raft the whitewater of Alaska!
Accommodation: Camping included

Day: 14
Anchorage
With pockets full of postcards and memories we're back from the wilderness. Hit the malls, live music spots or funky Alaskan themed pubs to round off your trip in style.
