Itinerary Update

Please note, this tour now operates in reverse to the itinerary publish in our brochure.

  • Day 1-2: Anchorage & Homer

Found at the head of Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula, Homer is popular for its access to bear and whale viewing and made famous as 'The End of the Road' in Tom Bodett's tales. Surrounded by wilderness and ocean, Homer is also called "the cosmic hamlet by the sea" and is a picturesque town with a bustling harbour and dramatic surrounding scenery. It is the perfect place for you to taste some of the local activities to make the most of your time. Among these include sea fishing and kayaking as well as the chance for a full day bear viewing tour which although expensive, is always received with wonderful reviews.
    Accommodation: Budget lodging included

  • Day 3-4: Seward & Kenai Fjord National Park

Make your way towards the coastal town of Seward, known for its unbeatable and spectacular mountain and bay scenery, as well as its location to Kenai Fjords National Park. Seward offers loads of both land-based and marine wildlife as well as a wonderful selection of tours, cruises and activities to make the most of your time here which you are bound to enjoy. Why not head out on a cruise to further explore Kenai Fjords National Park.
    Accommodation: Budget lodging included

  • Day 5-6: Denali National Park

You'll be glad summer puts in so many overtime hours of daylight this far north as it's time to get stuck into the vast expanse of Denali National Park. Along the way we stop in at Talkeetna for the chance to try Reindeer sausage and see where the mountain climbers set off from, before arriving to the awe-inspiring national park for endless views and hiking opportunities. Snap a few shots of moose, caribou, fox and of course grizzly bear on our scenic bus ride and hike in the shadows of Mt. McKinley. Standing at over 20,320 feet, North America's highest mountain dominates every view on a blue sky day.
    Accommodation: Budget lodging included

  • Day 7: Tangle Lakes

We stop at Gracious House along the Denali Highway for the chance to try the famous cinnamon rolls en route to Tangle Lakes. Great name and great place to chill out! Lake-splattered green plains stretch to distant mountains, and some wilderness canoeing should up your pulse rate.
    Accommodation: Budget lodging included

  • Day 8-10: Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Anchorage

It's a challenging but scenic drive along the Alaska Mountain Range, crossing the famous 800 mile long Alaskan pipeline. Untended trails, unpaved roads and unending views for the next 2 days are exactly what you signed up for! As the Wrangell Mountains cast their lengthy shadow, ready yourself for some top-notch glacier action. How about a guided hike on the Kennecott Glacier, or for a more vertical challenge, grab the axe for ice climbing on Root Glacier. We test the challenging McCarthy Road, passing the humongous expanse of the Mantanuska Glacier. Finally, with pockets full of postcards and memories we're back from the wilderness. Hit the malls, live music spots or funky Alaskan themed pubs of Anchorage to round off your trip in style.

This tour ends at our gateway hotel at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
