WHAT TO EXPECT ON SMALL GROUP TOURS
Whether you're cruising Las Vegas in a super-stretch limo, mixing margaritas on a beach in Mexico or sitting around a crackling campfire in the Canadian Rockies, no two TrekAmerica small group tours are ever alike, but a good time is guaranteed for all!
The following points will help give you a better idea of what life is like on the road, but if you come ready for adventure and with a positive attitude we'll have the time of our lives.
An essential part of your TrekAmerica holiday is helping out with the day to day camp duties. With guidance from your Tour Leader, the team spirit makes daily chores easy and enjoyable. From setting up in the evening to breaking down in the morning, from unloading the vehicle to shopping for food and preparing group meals, you're part of a team.
Some tour companies' idea of offering you a great 'deal' is a tour of virtually all one night stops, but if there's one thing we've learned in all our years of leading tours, it's not to rush things! TrekAmerica offers more two night stops than any other operator, as we believe it incredibly important to let you linger longer in the most popular destinations.
Camping... it's easy and fun!
Most campgrounds offer all the usual modern conveniences such as showers, flush toilets and even laundry facilities and pools. On occasion we will opt for more rustic facilities to allow us to explore further off the beaten path and stay right in the heart of some of North America's most breathtaking natural scenery.
Our Budget Lodging Tours offer the perfect alternative to some of our most popular camping itineraries, but with a comfy bed and a roof over your head at the end of an eventful day. We use a combination of hostels, hotels, motels and cabins, chosen for their friendly atmosphere and close proximity to the highlights.
Our tours have been carefully chosen to include the best night stops and highlights. However, as operational conditions and group interests can vary from one departure to the next, you and your fellow Trekkers, with the advice of your Trek leader, may choose to modify certain suggested night stops - although the tour leader has the final say!
