TrekAmerica launches new Xtra Adventures
TrekAmerica is launching two of its most adrenalin-filled tours for summer 2010.
The new Xtra Adventures, based in Canada and New England, include a larger range of adventure activities in the price, enabling thrill-seeking travellers to budget more easily ahead of their trip. Extreme zip-lining and a zodiac whale watching excursion are amongst the activities included in Canada, whilst trekkers will enjoy an overnight wilderness canoe trip and rock climbing on the New England itinerary.
"Outdoor activities are central to any TrekAmerica tour, with clients able to pay locally for those optional activities they wish to participate in, to suit their individual budgets and desired level of adventure" comments TrekAmerica sales director Richard Hanson. "Xtra Adventures are for all those adrenalin junkies out there who want to push the adventure level through the roof, ensuring every day is action packed."
The new trips were introduced following the success of TrekAmerica's first Xtra Adventure, the Canyon Adventure, based in the south-western USA.
All three action-packed Xtra Adventures are 10 days long. -
Canadian Adventure
Departing from Seattle, travellers head to the adrenalin capital of Canada - Whistler - and kick off the trip with a zip-line tour through the trees. Next stop is Vancouver Island for some of the best cave exploration in British Columbia before a whale watching zodiac boat cruise around Clayoquot Sound in search of grey whales, sea lions, seals, porpoise and possibly even killer whales.
Victoria is one of the prettiest cities in Western Canada, founded in 1843 as a Hudson Bay Company trading post and the perfect place to spend a day discovering the history, culture and shopping.
Canadian Adventure has its first departure on 5th July 2010 with prices from £689 per person excluding flights. The price includes the services of a TrekAmerica tour leader, transport, five nights camping fees and equipment, extreme zip lining in Whistler, ultimate caving tour in Vancouver, whale watching zodiac boat tour, sightseeing in Victoria, Vancouver and Seattle and entrance to the Pacific Rim National Park.

Northeastern Adventure
This New England tour offers some great adventure and adrenalin-fuelled activities alongside iconic sights and famously delicious seafood.
The trip begins in Maine, New England's largest state, where travellers can sample local lobster and stock up on supplies for the trip at the Freeport shopping outlet. Travelling on to New Hampshire, challenging hikes will be rewarded with incredible views from the Franconia Notch.
Mountain biking and hiking trails are limitless in Vermont, and the included down-hill mountain bike hire and gondola lift ticket at Killington Mountain will give travellers plenty of opportunity to explore.
One of the highlights of this 10-day New England tour is an overnight canoe trip on Lake Placid and camping at a secluded natural campsite before returning to Boston.
Northeastern Adventure has its first departure on 11th July 2010 with prices from £719 per person excluding flights. The price includes entrance to all National Parks and forests, scenic walks and hikes, coastal rock climbing, a full day gondola lift ticket, mountain bike hire, Lake Placid overnight wilderness canoe trip, the services of a TrekAmerica tour leader, transport and nine nights camping fees and equipment.
