From the world famous tourist attractions offered by cities such as New York and San Francisco, to the cowboy ranches of the Midwest and the glamorous Hollywood hills, the US really has it all.

However, one of the best places for Brits wanting their very own slice of American pie to head is the glitzy city of Las Vegas, perfect for a singles Christmas holiday , which is nestled within the Nevada desert. World famous for its casinos, gambling, high-class restaurants and great drinking spots, Las Vegas is truly a party city. And what better time to visit the metropolis than on New Year's Eve?
  • Glitz and glamour on the Las Vegas strip

Famed for its incredible nightlife and chance to live the life of a celebrity in its many bars, restaurants and casinos, Las Vegas has always been a draw for Brits seeking excitement and adventure on a Christmas holiday abroad.

And with America travel so easy and cheap, the city is a definite must-see no matter which part of the US people are heading to. Flying to Las Vegas gives visitors the chance to see the famous Las Vegas strip from above, in all its glitzy glory.

And on touching down in Las Vegas, Brits will surely be spoiled for choice over where to bed down for the night - from the spectacular Caesar's Palace to the hotels with international themes, including a hotel based on Paris - complete with its very own Eiffel Tower.

One of the top 10 American experiences surely must be sitting down at the table of a Las Vegas casino and placing a bet. But it is not just the casinos which attract the Brits - the whole of Las Vegas is one big theme park for adults and kids alike.

The city offers top class shopping so there is no chance of running out of great outfits to wear on exciting nights out - and if heading to Las Vegas for New Year's Eve then dressing to impress is definitely on the cards.
  • Before midnight comes around

While the highlight of a New Year's Eve trip to Las Vegas is obviously the moment the clock strikes 12, there is much to do during the evening of the 31st before the New Year begins.

One of the most famous places to head out for a tasty meal in Las Vegas is Planet Hollywood, which serves up all-American burgers, grills, pastas, steaks and milkshakes. If heading here on New Year's Eve then holidaymaker's may want to make sure they book ahead first.

Las Vegas is also well known for its amazing buffet restaurants - and Brits should not be put off by the image conjured up by the thought of these places, as they offer a much different dining experience than that at home.

From quality sushi, to beautifully cooked meats, Chinese food, ethnic cuisine and favourites such as pizza and steak, these buffet restaurants are truly the best choice for large groups of people heading to Las Vegas where there are many different diners to please.

After eating, there is such a wide range of bars and clubs to head to that holidaymakers will be spoiled for choice. From nightclubs offering people the chance to dance the night away, to low key jazz bars and traditional pub style drinking holes, no matter what type of New Year's Eve people are after, they are sure to find it on an adventure holiday to Las Vegas.
  • Cooling down on a break to Las Vegas

One of the biggest differences between the UK and Las Vegas has got to be the hot weather seen in the city - after all, it is in the middle of the desert.

So after a fun-filled night hitting the casinos and clubs of Las Vegas, visitors should definitely head to one of the city's many pools for a refreshing dip and the chance to cool down.

New Year's Eve in Las Vegas must be one of the top 10 American experiences for people to enjoy and could add a fun element to an adventure break to the US.
