  • Jour 1-2: New York Area, Philadelphia & Washington DC

    Leave the New York area and travel to Philadelphia where you can climb the famous 'Rocky' steps for your own movie moment, see the iconic symbol of American independence the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Head to Reading Terminal Market on an empty stomach and be prepared to be overwhelmed with delicious smells and flavours, one you have to try is the famous Philly cheese steak lunch. Then it's onto Washington DC for an introduction to the political, social and cultural history of the United States of America. Take time to explore the very best of America's capital city by people watching in one of the many green parks or explore the Smithsonian National Museum. Hit the bars and clubs of Georgetown and discover not only the treasures of this town by day, but also by night. A great way to pack in all of the city highlights is by renting a bike and riding around at your own pace.

  • Jour 3: Carolinas

    As mountain views morph into swamps, plantations and palms in this colourful area of the USA. Watch the beautiful scenery fly by your window before bonding with your new buddies and devouring s'mores around the campfire.

  • Jour 4: Charlston

    The oldest city in South Carolina, this places just oozes character and what better way to experience it than with a stroll along the coast. Take photos of the Morris Island Lighthouse that stands several hundred feet offshore or jump aboard an optional Charleston water taxi, where you could spot some interesting wildlife. Experience the ultimate taste of the south with a Charleston Nasty Biscuit; a chicken biscuit (which is actually more like a scone) covered in gravy. Sounds gross, right? But, we hear it's delicious and a favourite with the locals.

  • Jour 5: St Augustine & Daytona Beach

    St Augustine is more commonly known as the "Nation's Oldest City" and has a strong European influence. Wander down the narrow lanes, visit the many museums and explore some of the cities iconic landmarks such as the Plaza de la Constitucion and the `Fountain of Youth'. Next it's time to feel the sand between your toes on Daytona Beach, visit the famous pier and take stroll along the boardwalk where you'll find roller-coasters, a Ferris wheel and to top it off join your fellow trekkers for a sunset dinner.

  • Jour 6: Miami

    The wonderful city of Miami beckons with miles of golden sand beaches and palm trees; it is easy to see why people flock here every year. Seek out SoBe (aka South Beach) and stroll along the art deco seafront or pose with the beautiful people on sugary sand and in ultra-cool nightspots.

  • Jour 7-8: Key West

    Explore the crystal clear waters of Key West with some awesome snorkelling and diving opportunities. The amount of fun water based activities to get involved in here is endless. If you simply want to kick back and relax then you are definitely in the right place. End your day at the famous Mallory Square and let the celebrations commence as you watch the glowing pink and red sun set on what has been an awesome day.

  • Jour 9-10: Orlando

    Embrace your inner child as you explore Orlando's theme and water parks. The thrills and excitement come in thick and fast as you hit up Disney's Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Wet `n Wild and Universal's Harry Potter World. Orlando is one big playground and after a full day satisfying your thirst for fun, you'll sleep like a baby.

  • Jour 11-12: Panama City Beach

    After all the excitement in Orlando it's now time to chill out and what better place to do so than on 27 miles of pristine white sand beaches along the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy lazy beach days lying in a hammock or try your hand at windsurfing or jet skiing out in the water. Make sure you pack your dancing shoes as well as your flip-flops as you hit the hottest haunts on the Gulf Coast. So kick back and relax in this stunning, chilled out city.

  • Jour 13-14: New Orleans

    Now we're talking all that jazz! Hear the real deal at Preservation Hall or do the Huckleberry Finn thing as you chug along the Mississippi River. New Orleans simmers with Deep South charm so grab a Po-Boy, a bowl of Gumbo or some home cooked Jambalaya and pull up a chair in the French Quarter to watch the world go by. If the food of the Deep South gets your mouth watering why not join a cookery course at the New Orleans School of Cookery. By night, explore the bars in Frenchman Street for live music and dancing without the crowds.

  • Jour 15: Louisiana & Texas

    As you enter Bayou country, you'll be greeted with a big ole' dose of Southern hospitality. Listen out for the distinctive sounds of zydeco music and look out for gators and critters on our optional swamp tour. Then don your Stetson and toast marshmallows under a blanket of stars in the Lone Star sky.

  • Jour 16-17: Austin, Texas

    The music keeps on flowing as you arrive in Austin, another place which vies for the title of capital of America's music scene. Austin is an electric, cultural and artistic city which packs a punch. Live music can be heard almost any night of the week, so after a day of exploring, hit up the city for a dose of top shelf music and of course as the drinks start flowing, lots and lots of dancing.

    The second biggest state has plenty of cacti, cowboys and southern hospitalities to offer, there really is nowhere else like it.

  • Jour 19: Carlsbad Caverns National Park

    Head on to New Mexico and Carlsbad Caverns National Park to explore one of the largest cave systems in the World. Gnarled limestone stalactites hang from the ceiling like icicles and stalagmites that look like twisting totem poles reach upwards, creating a unique and interesting experience for all who walk through this incredible place. Did you know that when bats fly out of their cave they always turn left? Put this fact to the test with an optional Bat Flight Amphitheatre visit tonight.

  • Jour 20: Santa Fe & Roswell

    For all the art lovers out there Santa Fe is the one for you, visit Canyon Road, home to art galleries, cultural treasures such as hand-woven Navajo rugs, historic adobe buildings and a vibrant restaurant scene. Santa Fe will definitely win you over with its laid back charm and with tons of festivals and events throughout the year, you're bound to stumble upon something interesting. Then check out the International UFO Museum and Research Centre (and gift shop!) in Roswell! They say Aliens crashed to Earth and they have proof!

  • Jour 21-22: Colorado Rockies

    Adventure is definitely well truly out there in the Colorado Rockies, so get out there and get amongst it. Walking and biking in the craggy scenery will blow your mind as you walk some of the worlds most loved hiking trails and if at the end of the day you're feeling a little tired, the nearby hot springs will provide you with some welcome relief for your weary bones.

  • Jour 23-24: Arches National Park

    With some 2,000 gravity defying sandstone arches striking a pose, Utah's undisputed adventure capital guarantees non-stop fun. With two days here you'll have plenty of time to explore this incredible place. Take a sunset stroll and watch as the sun sets over Delicate Arch or for the action lovers, hire a mountain bike for some adrenalin pumping cycling along Moab's slick rock path. For the ultimate adventure head down the Colorado River on an optional float trip and see this stunning place from a different perspective.

  • Jour 25: Monument Valley

    On the road again and off to one of North America's most iconic landscapes, used as the set for countless Western movies, including the recent remake of The Lone Ranger. Immerse yourself in the native culture on an optional guided jeep tour of the Navajo Reservation and back roads. As you marvel at the sight of towering buttes and mesas which dominate the awe-inspiring landscape during the day, wait till the sun goes down and you're swapping camp fire stories under a blanket of stars.

  • Jour 26-27: Grand Canyon National Park

    Just when the scenery seems unbeatable, journey to the Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. With two days you have more than enough time to hike the rim trails for those incredible views looking down into the vast desert canyons. Why not hike down the snaking trails to reveal a very different side, and become one of only 5% of visitors to venture inside, or opt for a flight over the Grand Canyon for a bird's eye view! The best bit? Perhaps awaking to the most stunning sunrise nature can summon as the rocks change colour in celebration of a new day.

  • Jour 28: Lake Powell & Antelope Canyon

    Without a doubt one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Southwest, Horseshoe Bend makes for an impressive stop. The scenery just keeps getting better with a stop at Antelope Canyon, explore incredible curved canyon walls, don't worry you're not being abducted they are just shafts of light coming down through the rocks, Antelope Canyon is one incredible place. After all that exploring wash off the desert dust in the refreshing waters of Lake Powell. Straddling the border of Utah and Arizona, Lake Powell is desert paradise with a long list of things to do. Go for a swim in the crystal clear waters or simply sit by the shore and relax.

  • Jour 29: Bryce Canyon

    If you want awesome rock formations to gawk at then you're definitely in the right place. Famed for its hoodoos, you're in Bryce Canyon National Park. You're probably thinking "What's a hoodoo when it's at home?" Actually, hoodoos are weird and wonderful rock spires arranged in rows. "Mysterious", "breath-taking" and "out of this world" are only a few of the descriptions offered by past visitors to Bryce Canyon National Park. Native Americans believe these crazy shapes to be `Legend People' who were turned to stone for their sins, but we'll let you decide. For close up views you'll have plenty of time to take advantage of the park's incredible system of trails. Wherever you walk, you will encounter a kaleidoscope of colours and a fantasy land of rock spires that will leave you searching for your own way to describe this 'indescribable' place

  • Jour 30: Zion National Park

    Kick back and relax beside the gentle flow of the Virgin River, cutting its way between sheer red rock cliffs. For the best views in the park hike to the famous Angels Landing which offers 360 degrees of the entire park, it is definitely worth the effort. If you prefer to take the low road explore `The Narrows' with its soaring walls, sandstone grottos, natural springs, it truly is a unique experience with great views of Zion from the valley floor

  • Jour 31-32: Las Vegas

    It's Vegas, baby and there is nowhere on earth quite like it. Why not treat yourself to a high-rolling super-stretch limo, indulge in an all-you-can eat buffet, take in a show or just watch the amazing crowds, and neon signs as the glitzy hotels try to out-do each other with spectacular attractions. And if that's not enough, take an optional helicopter flight down The Strip or just gamble the night away in one of the world class casinos. If after all that you're still left wanting more, head on over to a chapel and get hitched by the one and only Elvis. Just remember what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

  • Jour 33-34: Los Angeles

    Today we make our way back to the 'City of Angeles', Los Angeles and make a beeline for a tour of Hollywood Boulevard where we stroll along the Walk of Fame and take that classic photo of the gigantic Hollywood sign. The following day is at your leisure, perhaps try the rides at Universal Studios or relax and enjoy a spot of people watching at Venice Beach!

  • Jour 35: Los Angeles, Santa Barbara & California Coast

    With the Californian sun on your face you're off to Hollywood where you'll find the famous sign and Walk of Fame. Once you've finished hanging out with the stars make sure you check out the skate park at Venice Beach, the coolest place to be seen in LA. Uncover the sparkling Californian coastline heading north up to Santa Barbara a beautiful town surrounded by mountains, rolling valleys and miles of gorgeous beach. As the highway snakes further north, get away from it all amongst the pristine wilderness of Big Sur as we stop for that iconic photo viewpoint of McWay Falls a stunning 80 foot waterfall that cascades directly onto its own private beach. End your first day under a blanket of Californian stars.

  • Jour 36-37: Yosemite National Park

    Heading east through California's gold country you follow the scenic drive into Yosemite National Park, where you can either hike or bike, through the extraordinary landscape of glacier-carved granite monoliths and spectacular waterfalls. Either way, this park rocks! Once inside Yosemite, keep your eyes peeled for black bears and coyote that roam freely as well and when the sun goes down, their howling often echoes amidst pines and sequoias. Admit it, this is what clicks the spirit of the great outdoors up a notch or two.

  • Jour 38-39: San Francisco

    Come fog or shine this city is awesome! Start with a tour of Haight-Ashbury a street oozing with hippy vibes and plenty of quirky shops and cafes. Head down to Pier 39 to see the resident sea lions who flock there in their hundreds and then grab yourself a delicious crab roll at Fisherman's Wharf. The highlights keep coming thick and fast with an included trip to the city's most famous attraction, Alcatraz. Learn all about the prisoners who spent their lives trying to escape with a superb audio tour. You can't go all way to San Francisco without a stroll across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and better yet why not set sail on an optional sunset sail cruise for a different perspective of the famous bridge.

  • Jour 40-41: Redwood National Park

    Take in the stunning scenery as you drive up the Californian Coast to Redwood National Park .Get out and stretch those legs with a hike through Tall Trees Grove trail and keep an eye out for elk and bears who can be found hiding under the canopy of the Redwoods too. These trees are tall and are in fact the tallest trees on earth, so be prepared to spend a lot of time looking up. As you explore more of the park you might start to recognise the canyons covered in fern and moss from Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World, don't worry the dinosaurs are long gone. After an amazing day in Redwood National Park watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean on what is virtually your own private beach. Sounds like the perfect day, right?

  • Jour 42: Florence, Oregon Coast

    The Florence Oregon Coast is the perfect place for relaxation and fun, stroll around the Old Town with its charming shops and cafes. You'll find beautiful evergreen forests, the sparkling Pacific Ocean and towering dunes for you to spend time climbing and rolling down. Take time out swimming and having fun in the Oregon sunshine, this place is delightful!

  • Jour 43-44: Seattle

    Welcome to the home of the iconic Space Needle, soar to the top and enjoy a bird's eye view of this cool city, on a clear day you may even be able to see Mount Rainier across the Puget Sound, in the distance. Visit Pike market where you can see market stall holders 'toss the Pike fish', visit chewing gum alley, or hit the nightlife which Seattle has come to be known for. It is also the founding city of Starbuck's coffee and has an abundance of other cool and quirky coffee shops, the perfect place for some people watching.

  • Jour 45: Vancouver

    Cross the border from one awesome city to the next, Vancouver. With its stunning combination of mountains and coastline, the city boasts outstanding views. Take to Stanley Park on two wheels, treat yourself to some moreish Maple Cookies and then head over to Prospect Point for the best views in town. Known for being a city rich in culture, why not head over to Gastown with its award-winning galleries and tons of cafes and restaurants serving delicious food.

  • Jour 46-47: British Columbia & Lake Louise

    Heading through British Columbia you'll no doubt be impressed from the word go! In every direction you will see incredible scenery from mirrored lakes, snowy peaks and huge forests of conifer. With the nickname like the "gem of the Rockies", Lake Louise is the real show stopper around these parts. The imposing chateau looks on as mountains cluster round the turquoise surface. We recommend you hike out to the Plain-of-Six-Glaciers or inspect the scene by paddle power on an optional canoe trip.

  • Jour 48-49: Banff National Park

    Packed full of show-stopping trails and incredible wildlife for you to enjoy, Banff, Canada's first national park is the crown jewel of the Canadian Rockies and it's no surprise it is a favourite with locals and tourists alike. If it's a relaxing time you're after, chill out by one of the picturesque lakes and the local hot springs or if you simply can't sit still, there are heaps of trails just waiting for you to explore.

  • Jour 50-52: Glacier National Park & Montana

    With bear sightings possible and other awesome wildlife in an abundance, it won't just be the snow-capped mountains that leave you awe-struck. The best way to see Glacier National Park is to don your hiking boots and go for a walk, from the alpine lakes, sheer peaks and of course the glaciers, all 26 of them, this is a park that will leave you speechless around every corner. Montana is often referred to as 'Big Sky Country' because of its numerous stars, but it is also a trekkers' paradise. This area sure adds a healthy dose of the wow factor.

  • Jour 53-54: Yellowstone National Park

    Heading out of Montana straight into Wyoming the scenery just keeps on getting better as you reach Yellowstone National Park. View explosive geysers including `Old Faithful' and colourful waterfalls while exploring the world's oldest and most famous national park. There is an abundance of wildlife here so have your camera at the ready and if you're lucky you may spot bison, elk, and bears and if you're really lucky you may spot a wolf as they have recently been re-introduced to the park. There is no doubt about it the next couple of days in Yellowstone National Park will be awesome!

  • Jour 55: Cody

    Wild Wyoming is up next and you'll head to Cody in the heart of cowboy country. Embrace the cowboy roots, shake a leg and try some two-step as the buckin' bronco rears its massive head! Nothing says Wyoming more than a good dose of rodeo and a Stetson, so why not indulge yourself in a summer rodeo.

  • Jour 56: Mount Rushmore

    It's not every day you get to see the faces of America's presidents peering out from the granite face of Mount Rushmore. The sculpture features presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln and it is pretty darn huge with 60 foot high faces, 500 feet up. Close by, another rock-carved epic is shaping up: the Crazy Horse monument, a memory to the famed Lakota Indian war leader, very impressive and a sight not to be missed.

  • Jour 57: Badlands National Park

    All signs lead to Wall Drug - the renowned drug store in the little frontier town of Wall, it's so big you need a map to get around and it's also your last stop before heading into the Badlands. Touching down here feels more like a moon landing due to the bizarre lunar landscape of low slung buttes, chiselled spires and saw tooth ridges. The rugged beauty draws in people from all over the world and you may even see bison, bighorn sheep and prairie dogs.

  • Jour 58: Minnesota & Wisconsin

    Wisconsin is known for cheese and today you'll have your first taste of Wisconsin before saying hello to the Jolly Green Giant Statue in Blue Earth. Head out across the great prairies of America's original western frontier. Resident coyotes may utter the occasional howl as you settle down for some shut-eye under canvas.

  • Jour 59-60: Chicago

    The `Windy City" is home to some of the greatest blues music in America. Soar up Willis Tower for dizzying views over the Windy City. Trawl the upmarket malls of Magnificent Mile before taking to pedal power on the optional famous "Bobby's Bike Hike" tour. For awesome views of the city skyline head down to Lake Michigan and take in the laid back city vibes and then go and grab yourself a slice of Chicago's deep-dish pizza, you deserve it!.

  • Jour 61: Cedar Point, Ohio & Lake Erie

    We make a brief stop to Gary, Indiana for a photo of the house where Michael Jackson grew up, followed by a visit to the Amish community in Shipshewana who maintain a more traditional way of life. Then it's Ohio, where you can ask a "Buckeye" to tell you all about their state nut or how cool they think Cedar Point Amusement Park's rollercoasters are! But it's probably better to find out for yourself, ride the Millennium Force - the greatest roller coaster in the world! That's enough thrills and excitement for one day, so settle down for a night next to the beautiful Lake Erie.

    Niagara Falls is three waterfalls all rolled into one, so you can only imagine how epic it will be to witness this natural wonder with your own two eyes. Get as close as you dare to the booming cascades of Niagara Falls on an included Maid of the Mist cruise, just be prepared to get wet. Tonight head back to the falls for an illuminated view under a blanket of stars.

    Leaving the roar of the falls behind we travel through New York's Finger Lakes region and the Pocono Mountains en-route to the New York Area. This tour is not scheduled to spend any time in New York City so make sure you book a few extra nights and explore the sights and sounds of the Big Apple on your own. Splurge along Fifth Ave, hit the top of the Empire State Building or soak up the trendy, laidback vibe of Greenwich Village before heading home.

    This tour ends at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
