There is ample time to explore all this vibrant metropolis has to offer. With its stunning combination of mountains and coastline, the city boasts outstanding views and is the perfect introduction to the land of the maple leaf. Stride, rollerblade or pedal your way round Stanley Park a 400- hectare natural West Coast rainforest, or relax and let the free shuttle take the strain. Walk the Capilano Suspension Bridge, 230 head-spinning feet above the river before checking out the city nightlife in Gastown. This is city life at its best, so enjoy getting to know your new friends in these exciting Pacific Coast cities.

Make the most of the silence and peace before you hike to the stunning Helmcken Falls, a 141 meter waterfall on the Murtle River and one of the reasons for the creation of Wells Gray Provincial Park. • Jour 6: Yoho National Park

`Yoho' comes from the Cree word for `awe' and `wonder' and as soon as you start hiking through this incredible place you'll soon see why. Negotiate the rapids of the well-named Kicking Horse River which offers some of the best white-water rafting in the world. The scenery will continue to impress as you come across Takakkaw Falls, falling from the mountains to the valley below. As soon as you lay eyes on Lake Louise you'll have no problem understanding why it was given the nickname, the `Gem of the Rockies'. The turquoise lake will have you pinching yourself in disbelief that somewhere could be this perfect, but this is no postcard, it's for real. Once you've stopped gaping at the incredible scenery that surrounds you, we suggest taking a hike out to the Plain-of-Six-Glaciers or jumping in a canoe and heading out on to the lake for a different perspective of Lake Louise and her oh so beautiful mountains.

  • Jour 10-11: Canadian Prairies

From the Rocky Mountains in Banff to the flat lands of the Prairies, this area is referred to as `Big Sky Country' for a reason. It's your chance to see a world full of big open spaces, endless skies and sparsely populated landscape dotted with hay bales and woven with old country roads. This land is so flat that people describe this region as `a place where you can watch your dog run away for days'. It puts places like Moose Jaw, Medicine Hat and Swift Current on the map. Shop in small-town general stores, while the local residents spin a yarn; a sure sign that you're well and truly off the beaten track. See another side to Canadian life with a unique overnight experience in a trailer park. Kick back, relax or party by the pool.

Here you can jump into a Canadian canoe for an included wilderness adventure! The perfect way to admire the immense beauty. You'll roll along forested `Moose Alley' keeping an eye out for our four-legged friends before reaching Lake Huron by the Georgian Bay Ferry. • Jour 17: Niagara Falls

It is hard to put into words just how awesome Niagara Falls is, from the immense sound of the falls crashing to the stupendous amount of water that falls every second. As one of America's greatest national attractions, it's only right that you experience it down on the water aboard the 'Maid of the Mist' cruise, where the cascades pound, churn and foam right before your eyes. Now that's what you call a front row seat!

Toronto is up first, so take some time to explore the wares of Kensington Market, a huge area where you can find some interesting souvenirs for the folks back home or pick up some tasty treats for the road. For a different perspective on this vibrant and multicultural city head up to the top of the half-kilometre high CN Tower for some great if not dizzying views. • Jour 20-21: Montreal

A true cultural mix is next on the agenda with a visit to Montreal - the second largest city in Canada. For the foodies amongst you Montreal is often referred to as the `Cuisine Capital' and offers great cuisine for you to sink your teeth into. Why not try the local's favourite poutine, cheesy curds on thin French fries topped with a thick gravy, or a `Rueben' smoked meat sandwich, which is totally delicious and melts in your mouth? For the ultimate culinary adventure a trip to O'Noir, for some dining in the dark, will tickle your taste buds. For the more extreme adventure seekers why not rip it up across Lachine Rapids by high-powered jet boat? Montrealers are a friendly bunch; they love to party and eat well, so you're in for a real good time with this city stop!
