  • Who can apply for a position?
    All Tour leader applicants must be American citizens and be at least 23 years of age (insurance requirement), have a clean driving record, good communication skills, and a keen interest in meeting people from all over the world. Please note that we do not hire non-US citizens for Tour leader positions.
  • How do I become a Tour leader
    Initially, please send a resume and brief cover letter to our Operations Office via e-mail at jobs@workfortrek.com in order to receive more information on the position and an application. Once we have received your completed application and have had time to review it we will get in touch with you. We do require an in-person interview due to the nature of the position. If you do not live close to one of our operations bases (Los Angeles, New York, or Seattle), we also have former employees positioned throughout the United States to assist in the interviewing process.
  • Who are we?
    TrekAmerica offers small group adventure tours for a younger international crowd who want to experience North America. Our type of tours are the best way to discover this continent with a unique combination of sightseeing and adventure activities and going "where the crowds can't go". We explore America on trips that take you to big cities, National Parks, beaches, small towns, and many places away from the tourist routes.
  • What are we looking for?
    We are looking for safe, adventurous, dynamic, flexible, reliable and organized US citizens for Tour leader positions for our adventure camping programme. A Tour leader organizes outdoor activities, provides city sightseeing excursions and arranges night time entertainment, teaches campground etiquette and delegates camp chores ranging from cooking to loading the equipment onto the trailer.

    A leader performs daily administration tasks such as accounting, handling all driving, arranging the daily logistics, researching unfamiliar territory and managing the ever-changing group dynamics. Our Tour leaders' certainly are an incredible collection of individuals - both men and women - and represent a variety of backgrounds.

    Summer tour leading jobs can run from late March through the middle of September, but we are looking for good people and can employ you for a shorter or longer period.

  • Special skills
    Americans with foreign language skills and a good sense of North American geography, history and culture should consider those qualities a bonus. However, the TrekAmerica Tour leader experience is not for everyone!
