Quebec City has a distinctly European flavour. Visit the dramatic Chateau Frontenac and explore the streets of North America's only surviving walled city; the historic old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Make sure you have plenty of memory on your camera as Quebec is one seriously photogenic city! The compact size of this city makes exploring it in a couple of days easily doable, so take your time to really discover this picturesque city.

A true cultural mix is next on the agenda in Montreal, the second largest city in Canada. Feel the charm of this 'European style' city, which has a kicking summer festival season. With bundles of eateries, trendy bars, live music and comedy venues, there seriously is something for everyone here. Why not try the local dish, poutine, which consists of cheesy curds on thin French fries and topped with thick gravy. Sounds yummy, right? For the adventure seekers, take the opportunity to rip it up across the Lachine Rapids by high-powered jet boat. There is plenty to enjoy in this great city, so make the most of day 5, where you'll have a free day to explore the city at your own pace.

The native Hurons called this spot 'Toronto' or 'meeting place' and it still is today, with over 70 nationalities mingling to vibrant effect. Take some time to explore Kensington Market, a huge area where you can find some interesting souvenirs for the folks back home or simply pick up some tasty treats for the road. For a different perspective on this vibrant and multicultural city head up to the top of the 457 metre high CN Tower for some great (if a little dizzying) views. Rent a bike to explore the city, or catch a ferry to the car-free Toronto Islands and soak up the tranquillity. At night, head to the Distillery District, a five hectare area devoted to Toronto's finest eateries and drinking establishments, or grab your fellow trekkers and catch a baseball game.

It is hard to put into words just how awesome Niagara Falls is, from the immense sound of the falls crashing to the stupendous volume of water that falls every second. As one of North America's greatest attractions, it's only right that you experience it down on the water aboard an included catamaran cruise, where the cascades pound, churn and foam right before your eyes. Now that's what you call a front row seat!

Finish the day off with a spectacular sunset and falling asleep under a blanket of stars. Perfection!

The Canadian Prairies are your chance to see a sparsely populated landscape of endless skies and big open spaces, dotted with hay bales and woven with old country roads. This land is so flat that people describe this region as ‘a place where you can watch your dog run away for days’. Shop in small town general stores while the local residents spin a yarn; a sure sign that you're well and truly off the beaten track. See another side to Canadian life with a unique overnight experience in a trailer park. Kick back, relax or party by the pool… this is definitely an experience like no other!

You'd be hard pushed to find a more stunning scene than the turquoise blue waters of Lake Louise. You'll find some of the best hiking trails in Canada in the area and it would be rude not to lace up your hiking boots and go explore. We suggest taking a hike out to the Plain of Six Glaciers and stop for a brew in the trail tea house, whilst admiring the incredible views. If you're dying to get out and see Lake Louise up close and personal, grab yourself a canoe and head out onto the water.

The scenery will continue to impress as you walk to Takakkaw Falls, cascading from the mountains to the valley below. But the world class vistas don't stop there, next up is the beautiful Emerald Lake with its glacial hues and forest backdrop. Visit the Natural Rock Bridge before heading deeper to explore the park and its varied wildlife. If you're up for some adrenaline pumping adventure, negotiate the rapids of the aptly-named Kicking Horse River, which offers some of the best white water rafting in the world.
