Leave the hustle and bustle of the New York area and head to the Finger Lakes region where you'll find pristine lakes, gorgeous waterfalls and magnificent parks. Visit the local wineries upstate or take a dip in the cool waters. Settle in for the night and camp under the stars surrounded by lush wilderness - like the pioneers of old.

Check out Mother Nature's most epic creation, Niagara Falls. Made up of three waterfalls, this mighty natural wonder will blow you away with its sheer power. The noise it makes is pretty immense too! Take the included ‘Maid of the Mist’ cruise for a truly awesome perspective of the falls, up close and personal. Prepare to get very wet! Cross the border and head to Toronto for your first of two nights in the city.
Take some time to explore the wares of Kensington Market, a huge area where you can find some interesting souvenirs for the folks back home or simply pick up some tasty treats for the road. For a different perspective on this vibrant and multicultural city head up to the top of the 457 metre high CN Tower for some great (if a little dizzying) views. Rent a bike to explore the city, or catch a ferry to the car-free Toronto Islands and soak up the tranquillity. At night, head to the Distillery District, a five hectare area devoted to Toronto's finest eateries and drinking establishments, or grab your fellow trekkers and catch a baseball game.
In the true spirit of the Canadian pioneers, set off on an unforgettable included wilderness canoe trip in the province's largest and best known park, Algonquin Provincial Park. With thousands of possible canoe routes to be taken, this truly is one of the most unique ways to explore the area, so enjoy! Keep an eye out for a sighting of moose or Black Bear.
A true cultural mix is next on the agenda with a visit to Montreal - the second largest city in Canada. Enjoy the city's french culture, narrow lanes and quirky cafes. For adventure seekers, you can rip it up across the Lachine Rapids by high-powered jet boat. For the foodies amongst you, Montreal has some great cuisine to sink your teeth into. Why not try a local favourite, poutine? Delicious cheesy curds on thin French fries all topped with a thick gravy, yum! Or how about a ‘Rueben’ smoked meat sandwich, which is totally delicious and melts in your mouth? For a culinary adventure, Montreal's famous restaurant in the dark, O'Noir, will totally tickle your taste buds.
It's time to enjoy some French culture in Quebec City, as you explore the streets of North America's only surviving walled city. Practice your French and embrace the European flair or get snap-happy around the historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Fuelled by warm pastries and scrumptious local cheeses, pay a visit to the Basilique Cathedrale - the Notre Dame de Quebec. With its gold interior and ornate carving it's a majestic wonder definitely worthy of your time. The compact size of this city makes exploring it in a couple of days easily doable, so take your time to really discover this picturesque city.
As you say au revoir to Canada, you head back onto US soil and make your way to the only national park in New England. Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island is beautiful all year round, but the colours really come alive in autumn so if you're travelling later in the season you could be in for a treat. It's time to get out there amongst nature, so hit the many trails for some hiking or biking, or choose to sea kayak amongst hidden coves. Enjoy the picturesque town of Bar Harbor and if you're a fan of beer, check out the local microbreweries.
Sensational New England countryside provides the scenery for your penultimate drive! Enjoy fresh seafood and a visit to the best of Freeport's outlet shops for some great deals en route to Boston, or ‘Bean Town’ as the locals call it! Relive the Revolution along the Freedom Trail, or let Faneuil Hall's street performers, stores and eateries tell their own Bostonian tale. Of course Boston's not all about history; take a trip to nearby Harvard University to see the brains of America hard at work. Your trip is not over quite yet, so how about a little sporting action? Boston Red Sox is where it's at and you'll be hard pushed to find a Bostonian who isn't a diehard fan, so try to get yourself to a baseball game and embrace the awesome atmosphere.
Before you leave Boston make sure you try the local taste sensation ‘Daddy's Dough’, a fried dough delicacy with a range of yummy toppings. The New York area is where your adventure sadly comes to an end, so be sure to book a couple of nights after the tour to explore the sights and sounds of the Big Apple on your own. Splurge along Fifth Avenue, hit the top of the Empire State Building, or soak up the trendy, laid-back vibe of Greenwich Village before heading home.
This tour ends at our gateway hotel at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
