BUDGET LODGING TOURS - BLTs
No matter how much we like sitting around the fire and a night under the stars, there are still a few of you who just don't like to camp. That's why we've introduced our BLT's (or Budget Lodging Tours) - just like all of our camping tours, but with the comfort of a proper bed and a roof overhead!
Our BLT's follow the same route as our most popular itineraries; hitting all the highlights but taking advantage of centrally located and affordable multi-share accommodation. Whether it's a hotel, motel, camping cabin or hostel, you can rest assured there will be all the modern conveniences waiting for you at the end of a long day.
All the adventure...
- Don't worry; you won't miss out on all the fun! Our budget lodging tours make the most of your time and money on the road, without the fuss of setting up a tent at night or packing up the next day. Enjoy the best of North America but with a warm bed at night. Arrive at each new destination rested and refreshed, drop your bags and you're off to explore.
- Who ever said an adventure has to be roughing it anyway? You're still going to be meeting new people and doing new things, partying in the big cities, exploring the famous national parks and getting far off the beaten track to where the crowds don't go. And you'll still have every opportunity to indulge in all those adventurous optional activities like white water rafting, horseback riding, scenic flights and much more.
- But instead of pitching camp and preparing for your evening meal, you will be heading back to the hotel, motel, cabin or hostel at the end of a long day to freshen up before hitting the town for a bite to eat or drink with the locals. Then after another good night sleep, you're off again, rested and ready for your next big day of adventure!
...without a tent
- We use all sorts of accommodation depending on where we are and what's available. Sometimes we will stay at inexpensive hotels or motels chosen for their prime location or good facilities and other times we will be staying in more 'rustic' cabins or hostels allowing us a unique opportunity to experience a destination from a different perspective.
- Most 'cabins' sleep 4 to 6 people and a sleeping bag is not required (except on the Canyon BLT & Cross Country BLT). Hostel rooms are normally single sex on a multi-share basis, subject to availability. We will try to keep the group together when we can, but this may not always be possible. We try to accommodate couples. Private rooms may cost extra, should be requested in advance and cannot be guaranteed.
- There is no food kitty collected on our Budget Lodging Tours. However, most hostels have kitchen facilities and a breakfast/lunch kitty has proven to be a popular and affordable alternative to eating out three meals a day. Contribution towards this kitty is optional, but our leaders will help to organise it for those who choose to participate.
