A new face behind the TrekAmerica blog

Hi Trekkers!

I'm Milly, and I'm the newest addition to the TrekAmerica team, stepping into the shoes of the wonderful Lindsey as Marketing and Social Media Exec. I'll be hooking you up with plenty of content to get you reminiscing over past treks and inspired for future ones!

When I'm not working or posting plenty of gifs on social media, I write for my own blog – talking London lifestyle, food and travel. I've been writing and blogging online in some form since the early days of the internet (my Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan site was a particular highlight...) and I love how social media gets us all sharing experiences through so many mediums. So being able to combine that with my love of seeing the world? The dream!

My first experience of the States was at the age of 16, on a college trip to New York. Top tip for higher education planning: performing arts students get the best trips. We visited the Julliard School, caught both Chicago and Avenue Q on Broadway and, of course, waved to the Statue of Liberty. It was the first time I'd ever even flown, and I still have so many amazing memories from the time I spent there.

Otherwise, travel in general was actually something that's come relatively recently to me. I hadn't actually visited many places until a couple of years back, when I visited Barcelona, Dublin and Amsterdam in a short space of time. Bitten by the travel bug and making up for lost time, I needed something bigger. My friends and I had been planning a California trip for way too long and it ended up falling through – so I bit the bullet, and decided to go it alone.

Except, with TrekAmerica, you're not really alone. I spent eight days on the Western BLT, cruising from Los Angeles up to San Francisco. I made friends for life, had amazing experiences and wrote all about it on my own blog, Mini Adventures.

After sharing my Ten Things You Should Know About TrekAmerica post, it made its way onto the Trek Facebook page – which was pretty exciting in itself. But nestled underneath was a job advert...and that's when everything fell into place.

In August I'll be heading back to the States to join the Atlantic Dream trek. Excited isn't the word! As a big-time music lover, the Deep South is a perfect adventure – and I can't wait to embrace my inner child with Disneyland and Universal Studios in Orlando!

See what's in store on my Trek!

I'll be posting lots of updates on the TrekAmerica social channels – so follow us on Instagram, Snapchat (trekamerica) and Twitter from the 10th August for an insight into living the (Atlantic) dream!
