Then departing `The City of Angels' you'll travel up the sunny Californian coastline towards Santa Barbara and enjoy some time exploring the pier, shops or relaxing on the beach. Known as 'The American Riviera', you'll find no shortage of palm trees to sit beneath. Drive the iconic Highway 1 along the sparkling California coastline and check out the legendary McWay Falls, which flows right onto its own private beach in Big Sur, you'll camp nearby tonight. This is grade-A California right here!
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 3-4: San Francisco

This morning you continue onto the `City by the Bay', San Francisco. As soon as you step foot onto the streets of San Francisco, you'll wonder why you've only just decided to pay a visit. Soak up the hippy vibes in Haight-Ashbury and while you're there why not take a stroll around Golden Gate Park, for some stunning views of the bay. For the ultimate view of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge set sail on an optional sunset sail cruise. We include a ferry across to the infamous Alcatraz Prison so ready your cameras for that perfect `inmate' shot. • Day 5-6: Yosemite National Park

Prepare to be wowed as you witness thundering waterfalls, granite peaks and towering Sequoia trees in stunning Yosemite National Park. Amazing scenery awaits you around every corner as well as an abundance of wildlife. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for bears, coyotes and other wildlife that call the park home. To be part of the action why not take a float trip on the Merced River or hike the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls for jaw-dropping views every step of the way.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 7: Eastern Sierras

Make the most of this remote location by leaving lush Yosemite National Park behind for a night in the heart of the Eastern Sierra Mountains.

  • Day 8-9: Zion National Park

Visit Rachel in Nevada, a very popular destination with UFO hunters. Make sure you stop at Little A'Le Inn Bar for close encounters of the Alien kind. Rachel is also the closest town to the former secret US Air Force site known as Area 51. For unbelievable 360 degree views of Zion National Park, hike up to Angels Landing. The hike itself will leave you breathless in more ways than one! If you prefer to take the low road, then strap on your boots and prepare to get wet as you wade through the magnificent Narrows, carved out by the Virgin River. As you wander through the towering cathedral-like sandstone walls, you'll really get a sense of how unique and beautiful this place is. Whether you're up top or down below, Zion will blow your mind.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 10: Bryce Canyon National Park

If you want awesome rock formations to gawk at then you're definitely in the right place. Famed for its hoodoos, you're in Bryce Canyon National Park. You're probably thinking "What's a hoodoo when it's at home?" Actually, hoodoos are weird and wonderful rock spires arranged in rows. `Mysterious', `breath-taking' and `out of this world' are a few of the descriptions offered by past visitors to Bryce Canyon National Park. Native Americans believe these crazy shapes to be `Legend People' who were turned to stone for their sins, but we'll let you decide. For close up views you'll have plenty of time to take advantage of the park's incredible system of trails. Wherever you walk, you will encounter a kaleidoscope of colours and a fantasy land of rock spires that'll leave you searching for your own way to describe this 'indescribable' place.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 11-12: Capitol Reef National Park & Moab/Arches National Park

In the heart of red rock country, Capitol Reef National Park is packed full of cliffs, petroglyphs, can-yons and domes and we've only got Mother Nature to thank for that. From one incredible place to the next, you're in Utah's undisputed adventure capital, which guarantees non-stop fun for every-one. With two days to explore Arches National Park you'll have plenty of time to explore some of the 2,000 gravity defying sandstone arches. Take a sunset stroll and watch as the sun sets over Del-icate Arch or, for the action lovers, hire a mountain bike for some adrenalin pumping cycling along Moab's slick rock path. For the ultimate adventure head down the Colorado River on an optional float trip and see this stunning place from a different perspective.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 13: Monument Valley

Immerse yourself in native culture on an included Navajo guided jeep tour of the Navajo Reservation. Experience the home of the real `Wild West' as you stand in front of one of the most iconic landscapes in the area, Monument Valley. Marvel at the sight of towering buttes and mesas which dominate the awe-inspiring landscape. You won't find a better location to swap campfire stories than under a blanket of stars.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 14: Lake Powell & Guest Ranch

Visit the iconic vista of Horseshoe Bend, a stunning stretch of the Colorado River. Yep you've guessed it, in the shape of a horseshoe, and also one of the most photographed areas on the Colorado River. Straddling the border of Utah and Arizona, Lake Powell is a desert paradise with a long list of things to do. Go for a swim in the crystal clear waters or simply sit by the shore and relax. Before you know it you'll be out of your swimsuit and strapping on your boots at your Western guest ranch and opting for a horseback ride for that ultimate cowboy experience. Kick back and enjoy some delicious home cooking and some truly awesome scenery.
    Accommodation: Camping and meals included

  • Day 15-16: Grand Canyon National Park

It's now time for the main event, the mighty Grand Canyon. Nothing you've ever seen before will prepare you for this spectacular sight, it will simply blow your socks off. Hike from the forest above to the desert below, red rock to white powder, or take an optional helicopter flight above it all and marvel at the brilliant colours from the ultimate bird's eye view. To really see the Grand Canyon in all its glory wait for sunset or sunrise when the colours really do amaze! Highly recommended is the hike on the Bright Angel Trail down to Plateau Point for views of the Colorado River and soaring condors. This is definitely one for your natural wonders of the world tick list.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 17-18: Route 66 & Las Vegas

Today will define the word `road trip' as you cruise down the original Route 66 with all your new found Trek friends. You'll stop off at the iconic sights such as Seligman which sits frozen in time and has tons of shops full of Americana memorabilia. Then there's the impressive Hoover Dam, the perfect spot for a cheeky selfie. But now it's time for Vegas, baby! Why not treat yourself to a high-rolling super-stretch limo, indulge in an all-you-can eat buffet, take in a show or just watch the amazing crowds and neon signs as the glitzy hotels try to out-do each other with spectacular attrac-tions. And if that's not enough, take an optional helicopter flight down The Strip. Just remember "What happens in Vegas, stays in Ve-gas".
    Accommodation: Hotel included

  • Day 19-20: San Diego

From one extreme to the other you leave the crazy party scene in Vegas in favour of a more relaxed time on the beach, perfect for nursing those sore heads. San Diego is all about bronzed bodies, big shades and baggy shorts. Visit the famous San Diego Zoo with over 3,000 animals or simply laze in grassy Balboa Park. With your trip almost coming to an end, it's time to make sure you're heading home with an awesome Californian tan, so head to Mission Beach, one of the nicest beaches on the West Coast. Later, cruise the Gaslamp Quarter, the heart of San Diego's nightlife, and soak up a blazing Californian sunset as the sun goes down on what has been an awesome day.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 21: San Diego & Los Angeles

As your 21 day adventure draws to an end make the most of a few more hours on the white sandy beaches of the Californian coast with some free time in San Diego. Before you know it you'll be heading back to Tinseltown and what better way to finish than with a visit to Venice Beach and a stroll along the boardwalk to watch as street performers and skateboarders pass you by. From here you'll make your way back to the hotel where the credits role on your awesome blockbuster adventure.

This tour ends at our gateway hotel at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
