VISA WAIVER PROGRAM

Travellers from certain countries may be eligible to travel to the USA free under the Visa Waiver Program if they meet certain requirements and/or have an electronic passport.

From 12th January 2009 any person planning to travel to the USA under the Visa Waiver Program MUST PRE-REGISTER ONLINE and receive approval via the US Embassy website's Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) before travelling to the USA.

The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is a new fully automated, electronic system for screening passengers before they begin travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. Voluntary ESTA applications may be submitted at any time prior to travel to the United States, and Visa Waiver Program travellers are encouraged to apply for authorisation as soon as they begin to plan a trip to the United States.

Registration is free and is a simple process that will only take a few minutes to complete.
