What can I say, my trip around Western Canada ROCKED!!! We had the most fantastic time! Our tour guide Ricky was just fabulous; he took us to some of the most amazing places I have ever seen! I spent the whole trip saying "WOW!" and "this is so amazing!"
Every bit of the trek was fantastic, but of course there were some definite highlights - firstly the white water rafting down the Kicking Horse River was so good - very scary but completely worth every minute! I still can't believe I actually did it, I am the biggest wimp ever but once you're on the raft it's just fun, fun, fun all the way! The overnight canoe trip has to be one of my favourite parts of the trip. Canoeing down a lake with absolutely no one around and then stopping to camp on a desert island which was just so tranquil and beautiful it was just amazing! We went swimming in the lake and hiked up a mountain to see the most spectacular views!
Beaverfoot Lodge in Yoho National Park was the best campsite, we loved the quad bikes and the SAUNA!!! Just us and another Trek group in a meadow surrounded by the Rocky Mountains was just brilliant, and just round the corner there was Wapta Falls - you have to see it to believe it! Whale watching in Torfino is so good! I would recommend it to anyone, just the boat ride is fun but seeing the whales is just amazing they are beautiful and the natural hot springs are fab! Vancouver is my favourite city I loved it, it's so cosmopolitan and chilled out. It was nice to spend some time in a city and actually see people!!
This trek gives you a bit of everything - hiking, the wilderness, cool ski towns, bears, adventure, partying, shopping and of course having lots and lots of FUN!!!!! I was very lucky to have such great people to share my adventure with; Sheryl, Amy, Tine, Ingrid and Odeale and not forgetting the legendary RICKY BROWN!
I would recommend this trip to anyone who just wants to have an adventure and try a bit of everything! It is definitely a fun filled 3 weeks!
