Before going on TrekAmerica, I used to read these post trek messages everyday in the hope someone new had sent another message - it's only appropriate that I should finally write something in return for the amazing 2 treks myself and my fiance just completed!

We started off in Seattle with the Canadian Parks West. Pete our Trek Leader was truly amazing and introduced us to fine dinner including steak and caesar salads cooked over the camp fire. Getting within 1 metre of Boo the Grizzly Bear was a fantastic experience, and was to be the first of many encounters with Canada's amazing wildlife. We saw them all (except the elusive moose), including bear, elk, wolves and even whales. Canada's scenery is amazing - we were lucky to have Pete 'drag' us up the mountains on several walks including the Iceline Trail. Our tiny trek of just 7 enjoyed the challenges of hiking, even if during them we moaned and groaned, upon completion we were all ecstatic with our accomplishments!

Highlights include: gourmet nachos on the shore of our overnight canoe trip, meeting 'Boo' the grizzly bear face to face! Seeing our first wild grizzly on the side of the road, ATVing in Whistler on a rainy day. Watching Anthony and Mark skinny dip at 1am at Torfino, after warming up with a bottle of Whizzer around our last campfire.

To all our fellow trekkers from around the world, it was great to travel with you all! To anyone thinking of doing a Trek - just do it - it's a truly magical experience!
