Canyon BLT

Hi there,

I had an amazing trip on the Canyon BLT (6th Oct 2008) with leader Sean S. My friend Jackie was with me on the tour and it was just incredible.

I have just recovered from Breast Cancer and this was to be a special trip, as it had been my dream to go to the Grand Canyon. When I was in hospital the other patients and I made a pact that whoever was the fittest had to get there and have a toast to the others whilst overlooking the canyon. It was a bit of a laugh really. However, one of the other girls died before any of us had the chance to get there and I was, although not incredibly fit, fit enough to join the TrekAmerica group.

The Trek group as a whole, got on really well and I was stunned by how supportive everyone was. I managed all the group walks, struggled, but did it, and Sean kept behind me all the way, encouraging me. He looked after the group and he made sure I also didn't miss a thing. He was informative, efficient, kind, considerate and the group loved him.

After dropping the group to do the walk down into the Canyon, he took Jackie and I to another spot where we could walk the rim and have our toast. Even going to Bryce and Zion, he would take me to other spots that I could manage, his knowledge of the areas are impressive.

I am a traveller. I have spent the last ten years backpacking by myself, with friends, with my partner and have used all the usual groups like Intrepid and Explore etc. This was my first trip with TrekAmerica, I wish I had done it years ago.

Due to my experience with Sean on this trip and the way in which he was fun and professional at all times. I will be returning on a regular basis, even in the future joining your family adventures. I have a high respect for TrekAmerica and I have been and will continue to tell everyone of my experiences and tell them to 'get booking'.

Happy Travels,
